forum Super hero idea, could use some help please! 🤔

Ok so here's the summary:
Tiberius Walker is from the future, I haven't decide exactly how far yet, where the world has been shaped by the sudden appearance of Super Heroes in the 21st century. The world knows them and tells stories of their deeds. Ty grew up on these stories and old news events, idolizing the heroes. His favorite is one particular group of heroes using robotic suits.
At the age of 20 he's working on his own new tech to improve the world: time travel! However, he sends himself back in time to an unspecified point with no surefire way back by accident. Now he's back in the age where the heroes first began appearing. To his surprise though, he meets the creator of the robotic suits he loved so much. He knows from stories that this man turns down a military contract and ends up as the hero behind the armor. But then BAM! The creator is murdered. Due to their conversations of Ty's origins, the creator leaves the suit to him, causing him to become the hero he idolized so much.
Problem is, he wants to get back to his family in the future, so he has to recreate his time travel back in this period. When he finally does, the world is different because he left and there was no one to be the hero. Now He must build the team that shaped his world.
Final detail, the suits were bases off chess pieces with the first being a Pawn because they're controlled mentally from a distance rather than wearing them. Now, my issues are: designs, names that don't sound ridiculous for the heroes or the team, and a villain lol
Thoughts?

A possible idea for a villain might be someone who would have originally become one of the heroes that controlled the suits, but never became that as a result of Ty leaving, instead they went down a different path to darkness.

You know I never thought of that, that's a good idea. Another thing I was thinking was someone following him back the second time and changing history in their favor.

I have a couple of ideas for some of the team so far too. I'm kind of along the lines of him recruiting people that have great hearts and strong will but bad life circumstances. I was thinking an ex boxer for the Pawn when Ty upgrades to the King, maybe do the knight as a centaur style bot and the controller is a girl whose legs have been paralysed so she can only feel the sensation of walking again after offered the position. Stuff like that.
