I'm trying to make this child like character(they're a little older than you would expect), and honestly, I can't do it. I don't have a child to base this character off of, because all the young kids I know, try to act more mature than they are. Or are forced to at least. So I need some people to give me some things, like physical features or mannerisms (name too if you come up with any!) that would be great!

@Celestial-Burst

Oh I have some! I have a brother whos 7 and a sister who is 12 (plus a lot of young cousins), so I think i've got a pretty good idea of how kids work lol.
Mannerisms:
Says things like "Uh" and "um" a lot.
Speaks their mind.
Loud
Can be annoying
Doesn't make eye contact
lots of giggles
talking/playing with themselves
constantly thinking they're right.

Physical features:
Bigger/rounder eyes.
Softer features
round/button nose
red and rosy cheeks.
Bigger head size to body proportion.
Usually a bit chubbier from "baby fat"
Teeth gaps or missing teeth.

Uh yeah, if you need anything else let me know!!

Really physical to people they are close with. I'm still sore from my two younger cousins using me as a trampoline earlier today. ten and eleven are their ages

they also can be distracted from minor pain by making them laugh. My ten year old cousin stopped sniffling over a bumped knee right after spinning them around in a circle until they start to bust out laughing, forgetting the pain.

@Young-Dusty-the-Monarch-of-Dusteria group

When they're interested in a topic, they get really into it. And often they know way more about the topic than you'd expect. My six-year-old nephew knows more about the inner workings of heavy machinery than I do, and he has his own real garden in which, as far as I know, he capably grows real vegetables all by himself. He also has a bit of a stutter but he's a very confident speaker and isn't very shy.
Also:
Kids often think they're much better at lying than they really are.
Younger kids sometimes confuse their own dreams with real life.
They switch moods a lot faster than adults do and have way more energy.
They get very attached to material possessions, especially specific articles of clothing.
Hope that helps! ^^
