okay so I have a character who was born in the 1860s, and after an accident involving a magic crystal he became semi-immortal (he doesn't age) and resistant to illness and disease. He starts keeping himself on the DL around the 30s after WW2 started and I'm wondering what're some things I could get him to do while I wait for him to pop back up in the 2020s for plot-specific reasons.
Any ideas?

Could have had a bunch of small town-jobs like a librarian or a coffee shop barista- He could move every 12 years or something so that people don't get suspicious of his youth ;) Working a bunch of jobs like that would probably fund his many moves, too, and give him something to spend his money on
