They're all on a team and one of the more likeable characters ends up betraying their whole team and almost killing one of our MC's towards the end of the series

So there's one character who's Apathy, but I've made it so a trumatic event happened and they went from Empathy to Apathy.

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

listen to what I did to my main character:
She watched her parents die/ dimension explode
Depression and having to lead a large group of people at the age of seven
can't have kids (later)
most of her friends died, so she made robots that have similar personalities
she has to help her twin through her depression
She wants kids
She has to leave and give up her memories temporarily, and her memories ended up turning into a personality who is basically trapped in the mind until they are unlocked.
Most everyone she cares about dies
She can't die but feels extreme pain
she's the oldest person ever
She's probably gonna exist forever and has to deal with insufferable bosses.

My main character's parents were abusive, for the amount of time they were alive. Then he had to watch as the villain slaughtered them. Afterward he was forced into the villain's army at the wonderful age of 10. He spent over thirty years fighting on the wrong side and it was tormenting for him and everyone else in the army. After he got out he was thrust right into another war where he ended up captured by the enemy. He was tortured for two months straight before being rescued by his little sister. Of whom he promised to return to, which is why he didn't just commit suicide while he was fighting for the wrong side. He ended up ripping his own eye out at some point while he was captured. When he finally does get killed from a battle at the end of the story, he's miles from home and no one even knows it happened.
Long story short I am not a nice writer. Anyone able to relate?

The way I see it is that it's better to take out my issues on fake people than real people. Because stabbing someone repeatedly is frowned upon in society.

Plus they don't technically know that we created them. So I'm not really worried about meeting them irl. I honestly think it would be fun to meet them irl.

I’ve killed my characters, killed a few main character (like the main main character at the end of the first book) killed “cannon fodder” characters, killed side characters. They all dyin’ here. (Though not in the same storyline.) still feel bad about it though.

Sinistra’s killed so many people, so has her/its siblings as well, she’s eaten/destroyed the planet of one of the characters (who was off-planet at the time). So imagine you’re going off planet for a trip, then it’s time to return, and the guys are like “I’m sorry, but your planet doesn’t exist anymore.”

I have a story that was kinda a way for me to write a sarcastic character. However, in their story they did some bad things in their first life, so a spiritual entity is like “yo, want immortality” without telling details, the character is like “yeah sure lol” then they just get hit by a bus and die; but not really. Instead they wake up several thousand years in the past with their previous memories and start walking around. They find out the hard way they’re cursed with immortality and insane regeneration abilities and while cannot die, can feel every single bit of pain they go through. Overall it’s kinda a bloody story though.

Arashi got impaled in the chest and left to bleed out or drown in the ocean.

@hollow-boned

Ok so i made the ex of one of my characters torture my character's current boyfriend by using a power that makes him able to trick people's brains into thinking they are being tortured, even though it's all psychological. and then i made the character have to beg his ex for his lover's life.and the whole thing technically only lasted like 2 minutes but i feel Guilty.

@generic-username-here

I have a character who will betray the team™ and cause their closest friend to become more or less catatonic. This character has always been on the other side but ends up regretting it and being unable to do anything about it. I'm also having them choose between saving someone's life or saving something truly special to them, so that should prove fun :)
And they're killed, but I'm deciding if the protagonists kill them because that's sad or the main villain does while their friend watches.
It's mild compared to other ones here, but that's because it's not supposed to be like 1984 or anything like that.

I made a character who gets used like a pawn for a while but everyone thinks he’s the real villain and oh lord, how wrong they are.

To be fair, the character isn’t really that bad compared to some of my other EoT antags. He has a few rules, like he doesn’t kill children. But he does kill his own men if their work ain’t satisfying enough.

In my universe End of Time there are so many antags you don’t know who truly is one or not.

Ateris is a newer antag but is pretty violent. Although Ateris lives life in pain, since its inner body is so messed up, it doesn’t function like normal creatures.

@Ellie_Love

My character's story isn't as gruesome as all yours, but here you go:
I made a character that has a completely normal life until she turns 13. She gets a suspicious text from her mom to go to Barns and Nobles. She has to skip school. (thanks, mom!) She goes to B&N and gets kidnapped by her mom's imposter. She wakes up in a different universe and finds a letter that tells her to kill her former best friend. The reason she hates her best friends bc her boyfriend is the guy she has a crush on. Then a while later she finds out they're cousins. Oh, and in the end, she dies.

@NaniCh4n

Oof, made my favorite of mine die several times and destroy a planet lolol, along with being hunted for it, not even remembering, and also getting stuck with saving her entire species from slavery, war, and outright annihilation. She's also seen many of her friends and comrades die, lots died protecting her too, some even died trying to kill her (she ended up having to kill them) so that's a thing, her boyfriend decided to go all wacko and she almost had to kill him too (epic fight scene) all while having to be the optimist because everyone around her is depression incarnate and with good reason. They have a terrible, scary universe.
I dislike it. Very much.

And yet I'm so proud.

I swear it's not really as edgy as I'm making it sound lol. I'm no good at writing or I'd have told the whole story somewhere by now. Working on that. I'm also tired so nothing even a lil positive was pointed out lol. You said 'terrible things'? I went "hey, I do that :O"

Let me tell you all about Victor.
He's the oldest child in his family, and has a younger sister named Claire. His parents were/are emotionally abusive to him, and when he was a senior in high school, he did a massive chemistry project for school that he spent weeks on, and the project itself got him a scholarship. Then during his second year of college, he gave another presentation, and Claire volunteered to help him. But something went wrong and it started burning, and Claire got hurt. She ended up in the hospital, Victor lost his scholarship and got disowned, so he had to drop out of school because he couldn't pay for it. He ended up moving in with his boyfriend Henry, and they got a fairly nice apartment to live in, and things started to get better. Victor still had a lot of mental stuff from what had happened, but it's manageable. He found a less expensive college to go to, and he and Henry got closer and closer. He even got a part time job working for a CEO. Unfortunately, the job was drafting plans for weapons, which Victor assumed were theorhetical. They weren't, and Victor and some friends of his broke in and destroyed them, but Victor got caught while the others escaped. He got hurt trying to cause a distraction, and then is 'interrogated' about what had happened, breaking a few ribs and bruising up his face. His friends come back and save him in the end, and he's on the road to recovery by then so it's not horrible.
Also he has a really poor immune system and gets sick with fevers and headaches a lot.
