So basically I'm writing a book that is inspired by The Hobbit, the Throne of Glass series and the Eragon movie (curse me for not reading the book please XD). But I have a slight problem. I cannot think of a prophecy and I would really like one. Can anyone help?
Ahhh that sounds super cool! :D Could you give a little more insight on the story?? I'd love to help!
I've seen a couple in the past (check Pinterest - I know that sounds lame but I've seen some really good ones), and also I found this prophecy generator for you! Hope this helps out a bit! http://www.fantasynamegenerators.com/prophecy-descriptions.php#.WmBrnyinFNI
Erase the Eragon movie from your mind. Read the book. That's your advice.
You can never go wrong with a 4 line rhyming prophecy. I don't know anything about your story so I can't think of any lines but I've always thought it's interesting when the characters believe a line of the prophecy means one thing early on in the story but in reality it is something totally different.
How you want to write a prophecy depends on your story.
If, say, you want to go for a comedic approach, have an awkward, rhyme-less translation, and explain that things do not stay rhyming once you've translated them.
But if you're going for the more serious tone, go for a nice, 4-8 liner with lots of drama and foreshadowing (remember, your readers don't know what you know)
