Her name is Nephthys and I love her so much. I'm sorry, I gotta get this out of my system.

not to be dramatic, but I think I would die for her.
That's dramatic.
But perfectly logical.
Yes! Tell me more about this queen. What's she like? What has she accomplished?
Clarification: She's not the center of this story.
She's from a Sci-fi Egyptian world, and after being in a toxic forced marriage with a king, she fled through a portal of some strange interdimensional deity.
She was taken captive by the other world's government and turned into a facility called the NNSAIF (National Neverni Supernatural and Intelligence Facility.
She met a wind manipulating character also held in the facility named Yaio, a sweet and very diplomatic man. Nephthys also met Helluildi, Yaio's close friend.
When intruders broke into the facility, a young man named Cedar and a middle-aged callous man named Eves. Yaio tells her to go to find the freedom she's never had while he stays in the chaotic facility with Helluildi, who's badly wounded.
She reluctantly agrees, promising to come back for them.
Some shit happens, and we're introduced to Ada, a feisty warrior with the power to control gemstones.
Neffy falls hard and fast.
Now, some shit about Neffy.
She's: Dyslexic, half robot, has mf machine guns in her arms, is 6'2, very, very loyal, very smart, and can lift a tank.
So she's an amazing warrior, wins the heart of Ada, and gains the respect of Ada's father.
Oh! Is she named after Egyptian mythology Nephthys? Also, we stan a beefy queen who can throw tanks.

Yes, she can also see spirits. :3
Cool! How'd she manage to impress Ada's dad? Also, did she always see spirits, or is it one of those things where she just wakes up one day and sees ghosts and freaks out?
The main characters were in quite a pickle, being attacked by tanks and fighter jets. Another character, Rose, created a time dome around them, nearly dying the process, to let the group (composed of 10+ characters) figure out what to do.
Ada and her father, Gator/Tamriel, who are both very powerful, stay as back up while the others get the heck outta dodge.
Neffy is very loyal after all, and she dashed in with them, going all out with her machine guns and smashing into the tanks' armor. Her help is very much appreciated, and Gator whispers to Ada once they rid of the tanks "You chose well." and my baby just stands there, overloaded machine-gun arms, with a stupid grin on her face.
As for the spirits.
She can more-so sense them, just see glimpses. It's mostly there to be a reference to two characters who died.
Aww, that's so sweet! I think I just squealed. Do Ada and Neffy turn into one of those awesome battle couples?
Aww, that's so sweet! I think I just squealed. Do Ada and Neffy turn into one of those awesome battle couples?
Yes, and they're very sweet together when they're not fighting. Since Neffy is dyslexic she has issues with words, and Ada will try to prop herself over her shoulder to see what she's reading (but fail because she's 5'4) and help her while nuzzling against her.
I'm drowning in fluff. How does she feel about leaving her friends behind at the NNSAIF? Does it haunt her or does she justify it or what?
I'm not so sure, I haven't decided wether to kill Yaio and Helluildi or keep them alive, but my co-writer made a child experiment and we thought about Yaio adopting her once magic users and paradoxes (dimension travelers) are brought back into society.
I mean, it's really up to you, but I think there's some interesting stuff that can be done on both sides. You can either have your girl struggle w/ survivor's guilt about escaping when they couldn't, or you get a really interesting parenting subplot that'll definitely be a people pleaser because everybody loves a found family plotline
But I'm sure you already figured that out, lol. This world seems pretty cool. Can you tell me more about the facility and what went down with Neffy there?
NNSAIF is ruled by Kelnumerus, a man from 15,000 years ago who purged light-based magic in a holocaust like war, transferring the taken magic into his son, Gulnverlruso, who's conscious exploded in the process. With the power stored in his son, he was able to keep himself and Gul alive. He then set out to capture all magic users and paradoxes he could to hide what he did.
Neffy went through basic procedures, undergoing shaky and poorly done surgeries for the scientists for their research. Of course, the types of surgeries and experiments will undergo varies. Helluildi underwent various painful surgeries and is scarred all over.
The NNSAIF is located within a large mountain range in what is similar to the Antartic. Neverni is this whole region, but filled with large ecosystemic caverns which have been transformed into underground cities. (light and warmth come from large roots of plants that absorb sunlight on the barren cold tundra.)
It's circular and has the floor mapping of a labyrinth. Each "level" is a ring within this facility, going from soldier barracks, "non-agressives" (who get their own freedoms and are allowed to roam the outer rings, even have access to a forest ecosystem cave.) mildly aggressive, moderately aggressive, and extremely aggressive. Then there are the laboratories, staff rooms, and the "throne" room, a large room in the center where Kelly and the shell of his son reside.
To the south of the NNSAIF there's Sytriz, an underground city which is explored in the sixth book (because this whole arc takes up books 5-7). That ecosystem cave in the nnsaif even links to the outskirts of Sytriz, so when the experiments are freed accidently (including the very, very dangerous ones) they break through the wall down there and flood into that city, terrorizing everyone there.
:pppp
Okay, that sounds completely awesome (Not the torture, just how well thought out and interesting the facility is) Also, kudos to you for dedicating yourself to 7 books! I can only dream of that kind of commitment to a story. I'm guessing Neffy was an aggressive.
On a different note, how did Neffy get her machine gun arms?
She's a war veteran on her old world, served from 15-19 and was "rewarded" with marriage to that king.
Poor kid. What was the war about? And what was her role in it? I'm guessing she was some kind of hero or else she wouldn't have been 'rewarded' with a marriage
Haven't gotten that far into it, since I don't deal with other worlds other than the people who come from it, sorry… ._.
oh, it's np
Any thing else? ;p
so what role does she play in the series? like, is she a support character? A tank?
A pov and a support character, I suppose.
I think I'm kinda questioned out. She sounds like a really awesome character, I hope you have fun writing!
Thank you, I'm sure I will, even though I need to get all seven books done before I graduate. kill me
