For one of my characters, I love the name Octavia. Its probably my favorite name and it's what I want to name her.
However, the name literally means the eighth, and my character is the ninth warrior of her home. That title is extremely important and I think that it would be kind of weird to name her a name that means the eighth.
I've been searching for some name ideas and so far, I haven't had much luck. Tabitha, Claudia, and Genesis are other names that I considered but none seemed to fit.
I'm just looking for ideas for names that sound unusual and aren't very common, like the four female names I mentioned.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Heh, I have an idea but it's kinda dumb, but it lets you keep your name. If she has eighth other siblings and especially if you want to name them all after their birth order Stardust style you could start by naing the first poor bloke something like Nulla meaning zero. So pretty much just start counting at zero instead of of one so then the ninth child would be named eight. I know it sounds dumb (Because it is dumb) but if you toss the lampshade over that mess and move on you can probably make it work.
Good luck.

One of the 8 other warriors could have been denounced from their home, or have had their title stripped from them, making her not technically 8th in line, but making her the 8th worthy of title and 9th warrior of her home.

Try
Ennead, Nona, Nio, Doqquz, Dokuzuncu(or Doku, Dokuzun), Neunte, Ennea, Naoi, Daiku, Ri, and Salapan
they are all variations of 'nine' or 'the ninth' in other languages

I think it is completely OK to name her Octavia, even though it means "eighth", it can be some sort of inside joke or something. (Or say Octavia mean something else in your own language, J.R.R. Tolkien named someone with a word that means "four" in Finnish that means "third" in his language).

Try these:
Aoife (look up pronunciation, it's Gaelic or something), Dentë, Niya, Edythe, Aralyn, Astrid, Janette (pronounced the French way)
