I wanted to toss some ideas around for a series retelling the classic Journey To The West in a high fantasy “all myths are true” version of modern China.

This sounds pretty interesting :D Are you thinking of more modern character designs?

There's actually a lot of modern retellings, I'm not sure anyone's done high school yet but be aware. I'm sure it'll be great tho.
