I actually base my Oc's off most of the emotions I feel or a situation i've been in and i was wondering if anyone else has based their Oc's off an emotion or situation. If you haven't done this then what is the one emotion your Oc feels the most.
I seriously, seriously hope not. A solid 70% of the characters I write are REALLY horrible people 😅

Chester: Dysphoria
Lincoln: Loveless feelings or feelinglessness in general, (I'm AroAce and sort of Asocial)
The Heir to The Thrown of Oblivion: I used to be insecure about my masculinity, I thought I had to be something more or a certain way or something, that's what they're based on
Oscar: Feelings of isolation
Hearst: Anxiousness
Sebastian: Self-hatred
To name a few.
I kind of based Insato kinda off myself and some otome heroine partially the hated ones, mainly my insecurities about being weak and not strong enough
Honestly Jax is kinda based off of that time I fell on my face at the waterpark because somebody blasted water into my face and i tripped over somebody's foot and my face started bleeding and i cried
Well… My boy Jay (i.e. his latest version) is based on my occasional feeling of vengefulness towards the abusive father of my friend who committed suicide
I base my main character off of all of my emotions and experiences lie the times I was cheated on, got into fights, or how I was abused
I've based my OC Isadore on betrayal. It's an extension of a scenario the person I based him on but just with much more life threatening acts against him.

Lupus : Selflessness, pride
Heraclitus : Perfectionism
Cygnus : Selflessness, love, kindness

I’ve never had a character based off emotion or a situation, but I have had them come from the music I listen to. 🤔 Like I’d listen to a song then bam, new character. (Is that weird? ^^’)

That’s me with almost every song though, and one of the main reasons why I came to Notebook so I can write them all down. XD
Akira - feeling dissatisfied with the way the world and my life is, wanting something to fight and strive for
Haiael - living out my sexuality without a care in the world
Nour - wanting comfort and leaving everything behind
Takeru - being happy-go-lucky with some rage and seriousness beneath the surface
Vanth - feeling out of place in the world
lots of spontaneous inspirations from music and random thoughts of relationships and scenarios too
Shiit. All of my characters have some amount of inspiration from myself or my own life, so I'm only mentioning the big ones since this would be long as hell if I tried doing all 29 of those mfs. Anyways, let's goo.
The character that takes the most from my own experiences is David (which is also a huge reason why he's my favorite). The absence of a reliable father figure, the uncertainty of my own gender identity and sexuality, the fear of growing up to be the same as the people who traumatized me, and my outward arrogance that's meant to hide my severe self-esteem issues (although almost all of my OC's display this to some effect). Hell, he's literally named after my dad.
Finch is basically all of my negative character traits boiled down into one character. He's a fake, short-tempered pathological liar with an artificial superiority complex. Pretty simple.
I also have a comically large number of pyromaniac OC's, all stemming from my own problems with pyromania; Cyprien, Paprika, Adele, Jem, and Oboe.
And then obviously there are the ones that are inspired by songs (ex. Jarvis was heavily inspired by Cotard's Solution), fictional scenarios I conjured up in my head (ex. Nor'Estor wouldn't exist if I didn't have this great idea for a confrontational scene between him and Lucky), and other characters that I really like (ex. Milosh takes an absurd amount of inspiration from Herbet West from the Re-Animator movies).
