sooo i would appreciate if anyone can just critique my character! i want to make her not so surface area but i don't really know how haha. so if anyone has any critiques or advice please do share them :))

Hey there! I’m here to help (hopefully)!
- I like your description of her appearance, but I do have a question about that. If she spends a lot of time on ships, the amount of freckles makes sense, but I would think that she’d have at least a bit of a tan and her hair would be lightened by the sun. However, if she spends more time on land, I would recommend reducing the amount of freckles, as a young lady of high social standing would spend a lot of time inside. Sorry if this seems nitpicky! I just think these features would help establish her environment a bit better, and there definitely could be something I’m missing here :)
- Having witty characters is always fun, and that’s a great personality trait to include! Is her humor more offensive or tasteful in regards to the expectations of society? Does she tend to be more wry and subtle or brash and bold? These things can go a long way in helping to establish a personality
- Her motivation is to be strong for her sisters, but why? Does she think showing vulnerability is weakness? Does she think her sisters are fragile and need support? Does she have a strong natural sense of leadership? Just a little more detail in this section would be nice :p
- Generally, I’m a little unsure of the time period/nation/type of universe that Renna’s story takes place in. If it’s historic fiction, I would recommend at least mentioning an event or person that would help establish the general goings-on of the era. If it is not historic fiction, then it would help to make that a bit more clear
Overall, you’ve got a really great character here! There’s some spots where I would recommend more detail, but Renna is your character and you know what’s best for her. Have a fantastic day! :)
