My character Liam needs a last name. I want it to be kinda simple and I also want it to fit his personality.

What I have for his personality is this: (note it’s a work in progress)
Liam is extremely friendly and selfless. He has been described as “stubborn” by Emma because of the way he puts others before himself, like using the last of his energy to heal someone, then claiming that it was “no problem.”

And Solace is NOT an option

Go to a cemetery and write down your favourite names. You can find simple ones or complicated ones. It's also just fun to be honest.

https://www.fantasynamegenerators.com/australian-names.php
An Australian name generator that has both first names and last names, so just ignore the first names. Has some nice surnames like Moore (always giving more than he can), Evison (sounds cool), Ellis (simple and sounds cool), etc.

https://www.fantasynamegenerators.com/british-english-names.php
Same as above but a British-English version. Some last name examples include Carter, Wright, Gill, Harper, Hart (this is a good one, because your character has a big heart), etc.

Same as above but American-English version. Some last name examples include Ward (means to guard/protect), Morrow, Key, Patel, Sykes, Lawson, etc.

Fantasy last name generator in French and English. Examples include, Sageless, Goldward, Holystone, Tallgrip (English), or Astalenet, Pellegnory, Montatré, Norac (French).

I didn't know which genre or race your character was, so I chose the above due to the name 'Liam'. Hope these help!

Wow I think RJworldbuilding probably covered it but I would also suggest giving Liam an Surname from whatever ethnicity he is, its simple and reveals something about culture right away.
Also allow me to link you to my all time FAVORITE naming tool http://www.meaning-of-names.com/search/
This lets you search names by a ton of categories but also has lists of names from dozens of nations or origins and their meqanings. Hope that helps

@The_Cactis_Lord

Look up some good last names, maybe even some of royalty. Put them together with his first name and say them over and over. If it sounds good, keep it. If it sounds stupid, move on. If you find one you like, use it in scenarios. Examples: Liam Anderson, you are one dynamite kid. Or: Liam Jeppson, you get over here right now!!!!
