This one probably won't be as long but I also am writing about a disabled character. Ok so basically she was born without feet and learned to walk with prosthetics. Does that sound realistic/plausible?

I am not a disabled person so I know nothing about what it's like. Can anyone fill me in so I can write a realistic character?

@The_Cactis_Lord

I have a character who has a prosthetic too. She just has one leg gone however, not both. I like the idea, it sounds cool. As for plausibility, I'm not sure. One thing about being a writer is that we can take liberties with what we create. Maybe this could take place in the future if you wanted to be safe? If you wanted to write it for modern times, I dont doubt that it's possible. Assuming their leg muscles are developed enough to hold their weight and they got used to the prosthetics early in life, I dont doubt they would be able to walk. Modern medicine is pretty amazing. I may be wrong though, but this is just my views. Good luck!

Yeah that's totally plausible and has happened IRL, prosthetic are amazing and making something as relatively simple as a foot in a piece of cake, odds are unless your character is bare foot no would would even know.
People, especially kids are amazingly resilient. Here are some new stories about kids that will maybe help give reference

Honestly, I don’t know what that’s like either, but I do have a few tips.
-they should be able to get around easily, but it may be in a way that’s not entirely natural
-it’s important to have the surrounding characters notice and typically point out the flaws in this character. Many people aren’t accepting of people that are different from them
-make sure to include possible visits to the doctor as check ups… also, the parent or guardians or people that care about them will be especially worrisome for the characters well being
