I'm planning to make an antagonist who is an academic alpha bitch in an art competition, but I want to be more of a threat now she seems more of annoyance compared to the other obstacles

Well, obviously make her have friends and emotions beyond "angry, fuming, and tossing nearby furniture." I would take note from Regina George from Mean Girls (both the movie and the musical), having her be controlling, emotional, and dedicated to getting under her enemy's skin. And because she's in high school, have her stress out about grades and teachers! For crying out loud, the one Alpha Bitch I knew worried about EVERYTHING. She was a perfectionist, and she perfectly annoyed everyone around her.

Give her insecurities! a reason to be the way she is! I know for sure through plenty of experience that insecurities can be anything from flippant to detrimental to one's health. Maybe she's hiding the fact that she's tearing herself apart on the inside.
Heck, maybe her idea of the world is "bully or get bullied" (I thought that for a hot minute, but my conscience is too big for that).
maybe she's an academic alpha bitch because if someone else gets a better grade she'll be thrown out of the house. or yelled at. let's just say there are parents who expect a lot out of their kids and it takes a toll on their mental state, leading them to believe that the only way they can win is to put others down to pull yourself up.
