As someone who is very unfamiliar with anime, I don't really know how tsundere's act. I know that they are cold to the person they like, sometimes even physically harmful to them, then slowly open up as time goes on, but I don't really know how to write one without them coming off as a bully who likes them. Any tips on the other deres would be great to! Thanks.
Idk, I feel like sometimes it’s good to take these archetypes as a general guideline, because a lot of them can get out of hand…
Coldness/emotional distancing is okay. Unintentional hurting of the object of affection (I refer more to emotional pain) is probably better than them being physically harmful, because you know, abuse/bullying do not make for a good relationship, and I’m under the assumption you’re trying to depict an at least somewhat healthy relationship.
I’m probably not the best source, but I think emphasis on the coldness of a tsundere is going to be your best bet.
A tsundere is not always cold to their love interest. They're even often just aggressive with them. They're the type of character that can be in a friend relationship with the protagonist, be a little bit aggressive and say "It's not like i like you or anything, [insert a cute insult]" (this is a cliché used a lot) when blushing. But please, just use it as a base because these characters are now boring …

I am planning for the Tsundere trait to be a trait, not her whole personality, but thanks.

I didn't see your reply, lol.
I feel like it would have been hard to depict a character something like Tsundere without them coming off as a bully who has a crush on the love interest or just a cold abusive partner, so thanks for you input.
