forum How do y'all create a sneaky entity?

So, i recently created a "thing", an entity of sorts that is originally rumored to be the ultimate mystical thing, like a wish fulfilling or all-knowing entity. When first encountered, it seems like this sweet benevolent angel, but speaking to it more and more, it slowly starts to feel like something just isn't right. One such example is the spring spirit from Samurai Jack episode: Seasons of death.
So how do i write it to seem more credible and show just how subtle and sly it is? And how can one escape from its charms?

Flattery is good when creating a mischievous character as well as pranks, tricks, giggling or smiling when there shouldn't be. I find getting a little to physical can feel that way to some people.
