So, I have this character named Ry (pronounced Ree because his name is Henry and I'm weird like that), and he's like this kinda dark, sarcastic, smart ass, and he really doesn't have much else. He's a high school senior who just wants to move away, he also deals pills on the side. I want to eventually evolve him into a possible love interest for the main character. Any advice on how to give him more substance.
I'd be glad to look him over and offer suggestions. Does he have a bio on here?
@"That_Spunky_Little_Parakeet (In honor of my baby Marbles)" Yes, he does, it's very brief and doesn't contain any of his relationships with my other characters because I haven't created all of my characters yet. You'll find him under Henry James Wellson IV.
Could you make his bio public please?
@"That_Spunky_Little_Parakeet (In honor of my baby Marbles)" Done! Sorry.
Don't be sorry Cas! You can call me Parakeet or Keet for short.
Alright.
Definitely try to elaborate on his personality. Maybe consider using a MBTI (Myers Briggs Type Indicator) test. Be sure to give him likable elements. He won't be relatable (or even likable) if he's an asshole 24/7. I've got a character who's an asshole, but that's mostly when she's at work, tired, and/or dealing with jerks and scum.
He needs relatable hobbies too. I can link some sites for character developing if you want me too.
@"That_Spunky_Little_Parakeet (In honor of my baby Marbles)" Thanks for the advice! I'm definitely going to give him some kind of softie moments. I've looked at Myers Briggs personalities, but I've yet to assign any to my characters. Thanks again!
No problem! I can link a test site if you want!
@"That_Spunky_Little_Parakeet (In honor of my baby Marbles)" Yes please!
Alrighty!

I've found this one to be the most reliable and accurate, having used it for myself and my characters.
