He seems like a really cool character! I'd just like to see a little more of his life now, what is he doing, does he interact with any of the canon characters, etc!
Sure! I'll probably edit his wiki or post something here about it
What a jerk. I think he would make for a very effective antagonist or antihero; leaning a bit towards antihero.
haha yeah, he's supposed to be an asshole
List the few he is loyal to! I'd like to know his backstory and relationships to better understand him. Who hurt him? Who does he still trust and why?
good to know, thank you. i'll have to put that in his overview
Hope can help out, I don't know as much about Star Wars as I'd like to but here is some points of feedback:
What kind of person makes him open up? Do they have to have the same or opposite personality? Or is it a case by case thing since he doesn't come across as a 'friendship' kinda guy….is there a certain reason he is so untrusting? Was it the way he was brought up or its just based off of bad experiences? To be honest I'm having a hard time remembering what Tatooine was like when I had seen the films, probably shapes him in a good (or bad) way…But on that topic what was his family like? I assume they shaped a lot of who his is but what did he take from them? Ignore from them? Were they nice to him or had a 'tough love' type of relationship? Did he actually trust anyone or just had to depend on them.
Those are the first questions to come to mind, overall a really coolio guy! You're doing great so far with him.
Thanks, Emma! To elaborate, he doesn't trust anyone because he was raised that way. During the reign of the Galactic republic, Tatooine was a slave planet, where people would be born into and die in slavery. After that stopped, and the Empire took over, crime lords like Jabba the Hutt took over and ran the place. What I'm getting at is he was raised not to open up to others, having been led by example. You'd have to imagine growing up around the Al Capone of the Star Wars would really affect the way you interact with and view the world. However, the not understanding the emotions part is just his personality, and it's something he needs to learn to do.
His family is made up of half jungle dwellers and half criminals. The reason they're jungle dwellers is because of their home planet, Onderon, which was a jungle. The other half became criminals because the confederacy had control over the planet in the Clone Wars, and they sought to help the droid army rather than stay at their home. Anja was born after the fall of the republic, but he still chose crime. The dude ignored his jungle dwelling family in order to get out and make a name for himself (granted, in the worst way possible.) What he did take, though, were skillsets in things like hand-to-hand combat and shooting. He did have strict parents, but he didn't hate them or anything, he just left due to a variety of factors–money, infamy, a luxorious life, etc.
To answer your question about who would make him open up, I feel like every kind of person could do so given enough time. However, I would say it would be easiest for somebody who is the opposite of him. Somebody who's a respectable member of society, and has good morals. While he might try and defend his actions, he knows he's scum, and he'd probably tell an opposite of him because they wouldn't look at him as weak. In his eyes, showing weakness is a path to your downfall, and this holds especially true in the world of criminals. While he did have to trust a few people, such as figures like Vader, Jabba, etc, he didn't trust many.
That all sounds perfect, it makes a lot more sense fore his character!
glad you liked it! this whole character type is an experimental concept for me, and i appreciate the feedback
its no problem at all! if you need anything else I got you as well
