Can anyone critique? I spent a lot of time on this character's back story so I hope its okay. Shout out to @CinnamonRoll, who has been quite helpful in the past. I'm asking a lot, but if you wanted to critique, could you? Anyone else can too.
Can you elaborate on what you mean by "Switches from female to male, although she is female more than she is male."? And also that's not exactly how it works when somebody under the age of 18 is getting abused and gets taken to court for custody. If they have evidence of it, and he's proven guilty, she gets taken away forever. None of that "visiting on (days)" stuff. The character's not bad, but it could use a lot of tweaking.
She prefers to be female on more than half of the days, although sometimes she prefers to be male too. As in using the pronouns him and her instead of he and she.
They have no evidence of it at all. Also, he is 97 when she is aged 16. Therefore, the court feels bad for him since he is an old man from the past, and, since they have no evidence of him actually abusing him, and she's a minor, then she has visitation.
I realize it's been… um…. over a month (oops!) but I've been offline forever!! It might be too late, but I'd really like to try to help anyway!
Okay, in the classic fashion, top down….
First off, you mention that she hates all men, but she's also (a) genderfluid and (b) motivated by Julian, whom I think is male (sorry if I'm wrong!) I'm not well-versed on gender specifics, but in both of these respects the 'hates-all-men' thing seems a bit stilted. It can work, just add some criteria!
For politics, maybe put that she's liberal? (I'm assuming liberal because of the genderfluid bit). I always find this helpful! :)
Very, VERY good job on the backstory! I'm super impressed! Just two minor notes: One, what happened to Josie? She just sorta disappears. Two, why would Steven want another child if he didn't want to raise her? Maybe add a life event that set him down a bad path after he gets Lynn.
Other than that, this is a REALLY well-developed character and you should be proud of yourself!! I'm sorry for taking so long, but I though that I should try anyway. :)
I hope that this helps you!! :DDD
