I'm working on a supporting character for my first novel and would really appreciate any help in developing him successfully.

He sounds like he'd be a dreamy golden boy. Everything looks OK, except in education, where you put none, I would go into a bit more about what he's learned as a mapmaker or an explorer, what survival tips he's picked up, how he learned to make maps and trace the land. Stuff like that. Maybe include any sort of body imperfections or facial imperfections that aren't his scars. Like, most people have moles or pimples of some kind, bruises etc. Right now he sounds like his skin is smooth and perfect, which maybe it is, but body imperfections are just something to think about, I guess.

Hi, I checked out your character and I think that he's a pretty interesting character and that you have a good grasp on him. To me, he seems like a calm person with an independent mind. I also think you could add on to his mannerisms, like, what are somethings he does that give away how he's feeling? When he runs his hands through his hair does that signal that he's frustrated? In deep thought? Does he slump his shoulders when he feels dejected or sad? What does rolling up his sleeves define? And what importance does him being a map-maker hold? But besides that, Cal is a really cool character. ;P
