Okay so like quick exposition here: Azariah has time magic, which in my world is one of the hardest to learn to control. (Apart from Life-related magic.) He has a condition which is nicknamed Aeon's Delirium Syndrome or ADS that causes what appear to others as seizures. The person that experiences this phenomena will often experience time-lapses and very rarely glimpses into the past. They also can see the future, but they sometimes see only muddled versions of that future, thus it's not always 100% accurate. (These flare-ups happen especially during the teenage years.)

When he was seventeen, he experienced a flare-up that quite literally changed his entire life, in which he saw a future in which his mentor sold Azariah himself along with three younger children out to the government to basically be murdered. He kept this revelation to himself for almost six months, thinking it couldn't be true and not wanting to alarm or offend anyone. By the time he realizes that his vision was true, it is far too late. He was terrified and he ran away from the situation. Needless to say, Azariah regrets this decision and all the preceding ones for the rest of his life, as it resulted in the death of three (Or so he thinks. In reality, it killed two.) almost-siblings whom he did have a strong bond with.

This is kind of where the song comes in, because the speaker in the song appears to be burdened with a horrifying truth that they cannot reveal to anyone out of fear for their lives. :)

Wow… Lots of exposition, hope it was at least enjoyable! It was enjoyable for me to write. :) Sorry for the giant wall, I'm excited to see everyone else's replies!

Because of his curse, he begins to abuse his boyfriend Daniel who ends up leaving him for another guy because of that. Although he is the main antagonist in my story and is known for his incredibly cruel demeanor, he still cares deeply for him and only wants the best for him but at the same time wishes he could come back to him

Why it fits: My boy became King when he was thirteen, after the death of his parents. He's been manipulated and stabbed in the back without even realizing it, and his crown is essentially not even his anymore. I view it as a somewhat melancholy song of hope, and redemption, if you want to go that far. Someday, he'll be King again, and be his own King, not the puppet he's been since he was a child.
