My protagonist and POV character is a high school senior named Nathan (his friends call him Nate) with muscular dystrophy. The story follows him as he tries to figure out romance, friendships, and school and how to deal with his disability.
He's a nervous wreck and also a hopeless romantic, and pretty altruistic. I don't really know what else to say, so I'll cut myself off here, for now.
A more minor character but one fun to design: Sabella Mikel. She's a real hard-ass and probably the character I'd clash the most with in personality, but she's got a way with words and knows a lot more than I do probably. I think it's important to write characters you don't like as the 'good guys' so this is where Sabella was born. The worst good guy ever.
I was looking for a thread to discuss characters themselves in! My protagonist is Aurel. He's an anxious shapeshifter with an amount of power. He likes mangos and training. He hates lies but is very gullible. He owns a little scottish fold cat named purrcy.
I've got a 4 for 1 special here! These 4 characters are the main group from my heroic fantasy/high fantasy story.
Liam Archibald: He is 17 years old and comes from the small pastoral village of Oakstead. He is tall and lean, with wavy blond hair kept in a ponytail, and brown eyes. He is calm and level-headed, and his confidence often spreads to those around him, making him the de facto leader of his friends(even though he's uncomfortable leading others).
Egan Reinwald: He is 16 years old, and Liam's oldest and best friend. He is shorter and stockier than Liam, but is much stronger, with a fiery and spontaneous personality that sometimes clashes with Liam's more reserved personality. He has curly, untameable red hair and bright blue eyes.
Kiera Farryn: She is 17 years old, and a childhood friend of both Liam and Egan. She is petite, paler-skinned than the boys, and has dark brown hair and eyes with a snarky and quick-witted personality to match.
Leylla Larksong: She is a teenage wood elf who lives in a town near Oakstead. Abandoned as a baby in a completely different country than her elvenkin, she was adopted by a woman in the town who also happened to run the local tavern, "The Lark's Song". Leylla is cheerful, energetic, enthusiastic, and a bit naive, but is ferociously protective of people she cares about. She is tall, lanky, and 'well-endowed', with tan skin, copper hair, and luminescent green eyes.
Obviously there's a lot more I'd like to talk about with these 4, but for this I tried to boil it down to the most concise descriptions I could.
One of my characters is Imogen Deveraux. Though a minor character, she plays a big role in helping my protagonist out of sticky situations.
She is twenty-four years old and married to an emperor. She married him out of duty and though she could've declined the proposal, she accepted it for her family, who wasn't in a good position after her brother's death.
Honestly, Imogen was really fun to write about, especially her backstory. I think it's important to have a backstory for every major character (and even some minor ones) even if you don't reveal it in the story. Writing a backstory really gives me a feel for who my character is and what they believe.
So that is my amazing minor character.
A group of characters in a D&D story I'm writing are known as "Champions of the White Crow". They are spectral beings, having died long ago and been resurrected by a yet-unseen, power-hungry magic user. They seem to be nothing but floating white robes, having a set of glowing yellow eyes and no face. Their intent is to summon the White Crow, a colossal white dragon that was vanquished to the Ethereal Plane by the Ancient Stargazers (another group that needs development) with the help of several powerful artifacts of their design.
The Heroes of my story are the players, my friends who have named their characters "Wizomal" and "Vaconto". After stumbling upon one of the artifacts and being visited by a Champion, they investigate what just happened, leading them to the Reclaimers of Starminster, a group dedicated to tracking down and retrieving the artifacts before the Order of the White Crow does.
This is my first D&D Campaign and, in general, attempt at storymaking. The plot is somewhat based around the "Adventure Zone" podcast by the McElroy brothers (which I highly suggest).
So yeah, as a fledgling author I can say that my work is not the best, or even close to finished. But in any case, writing this story is really fun and this site makes it much, much easier.
Since I'm still transferring my notes to here my stuff is private, but my protagonist is Boaz Shaw. He's a former Master's Mate who ran away and is now helping a ship full of faeries find their way home. He was pressed to the Royal Navy by a rougish bunch of officers, and found himself trapped in the system, but one night after setting sail for America in 1812, he escapes and stumbles into a world of lost faeries.
One of my character's names is Jami Terrana-Gaither, and the only way to describe her is by saying that she's like the annoying friend :D. She's always talking, constantly perky, and has a very flashy energy. The reason I enjoy her is because her personality and general quirkiness offers a nice breath of fresh air from my other five darker, more depressing characters. She still manages to have a decent storyline, though, being born in the light realm even though she belongs in the dark world. After she finds herself in her rightful realm, the rest of her journey is about discovering her mutated mental powers and learning about the role maturity and responsibility play in her life.
nova. book one protagonist. goes through a lot of traumatizing stuff before the book even starts. spends most of her life without magic in the human realm trying to forget all the things. gets to the point that she pretty much forgets about the realm of faery altogether, but then there's a war brewing and she kinda has to lead the army. not her thing. things happen, she gets her magic back, and her hair changes from brown to black as night.
luna. book two protagonist. goes through a lot of traumatizing stuff before the book even starts. spends most of her life as the last celestial fairy and the last fairy with magic. bordering on sex addict since it's the only thing she can control, while everyone else is trying to tell her how to rule a realm. gets stuck in the human realm where she encounters people, other people die, the gods become involved, she's not happy with them. her hair is floor length and silver.
sol. book three protagonist. goes through EVEN MORE traumatizing stuff before the book even starts than the other two. spends most of her life IN A PRISON CELL BEING TORTURED. where nova and luna are cynical of the world(s), sol is trying to make things better but THINGS JUST KEEP HAPPENING. they all need a century long nap. stuff happens, SHE ALMOST DIES, and then there is a big battle in the realm of faery. no one is happy with the gods. her hair is gold.
my precious space fairy daughters need protecting. and maybe a hug.
Another character of mine: Max Oakland. Introduced in the 2nd book of the series, he was born mute. He starts out living alone in the forest with none of his family members alive. When he is suddenly forced back into the world of people, it's a bit of a shock to his system, what with being harassed for his differences and all. He wants to connect to people so badly after so much time alone, but he distances himself in spite of this because he sees himself not only as too different and flawed, but also as responsible for the death of his loved ones, as they were killed by people tracking down Max himself. With his inability to talk, he tends to keep all of this inside anyway, which becomes a large problem when he is finally forced to confront his issues head-on, leading to a bit of an emotional explosion. He's been difficult to write due to the no dialogue thing, but I appreciate his character nonetheless because he's able to see past his own flaws and transcend his awful past to make a bright future.
My character is a little shorty named Lillith! Lilly is what all her friends call her. She is very self conscious of her height. She is quite smart (like school smart, math, etc.), loves to paint, but is pretty shy and naive. She had a troubled life while growing up, being bullied for her height and with her parents not quite the best ones, especially since one of them is drunk while the other is not. Her best friend is a boy her age named Grant, really the only one she trusts with her life besides her other best friend Trinity.
Suddenly, she and her group of friends are literally thrown through a portal into a different universe and are forced to adapt to their life in a magic realm. She is told that they have to save the universes from a evil villain who is trying to destroy all the universes. She then is given the power of water and she and her friends fight the villain and try to save the day, while a bit of romance is thrown in and she tries to overcome her depression and self consciousness along with helping her friends overcome their flaws.
I’ll name a five of my favorites here! It might get long, sorry, but I’m kind of excited to get to talk about these characters I care so much about!
Jo King: At the time when she is the main character, she is thirty-three years old and she lives in an undisclosed place in the American Midwest. She’s pretty short, and she has silky brown hair and piercing blue eyes. She has power to create and manipulate ice. She is strong and independent to a fault, and often her precise and dominant nature makes her seem cold to others. However, she is still fairly insecure, and has only a few close friends.
Ben Lewis: He is about thirty at the time he is a main character. He’s tall, with a slightly darker skin tone and lots of fluffy black hair. He’s kind, but emotional and rather easily manipulated. His natural power is the ability to heal other’s injuries, physical and mental. However, through certain technology, he shares powers with one of his friends, allowing him to have white and feathery wings in his back that he can fly with. He is very close to Jo, but he served as a very major villain and ended up killing her (twice). He did redeem himself later though, and I’m very attached to him!
Daniel Young: Goes by Dan. Also about thirty during his time as a main character. On the shorter side, with neatly groomed brown hair and square glasses. He has very strong morals and character, and he is unfailingly loyal to anyone he trusts. He has the ability to create pieces of metal, and even turn his own body into metal in dangerous situations. He uses his power rarely, believing that it’s not a fundamental part of him. He argues with Ben near constantly (though he doesn’t know that it’s because Ben likes him), and wants nothing to do with the man. He also quarrels with Jo, but he sees her as a sister and will protect her when push comes to shove. His wife was killed in an incident with his powers, something he blames on Ben, and now he is in a relationship with his friend Jared.
Jared McHenry: Jared is age twenty-eight during his time as a main character. He is a very average man in all of his looks, except for his hair, which is long and thick, often dyed bright colors, and usually kept in a bun or pony-tail. He cares most about order and equality. He is hard-working and determined. He can control and create fire in his hands, an ability that he uses endlessly to annoy Jo with. He understands Dan’s attachment to Jo, but holds no affection for her and would sooner protect himself than her in a dangerous situation. He believes that the need of many outweighs the need of one, and he disciplines others to the point of being a bother.
Sora Edwards: Despite going by Sora, almost everyone else calls her Edwards. She becomes so used to and comfortable with the name that, after she moved away and marries, she ends up changing her first name to Edwards in honor of her old friends. She is twenty-two while she is a main character. She is very pretty, with a fairly curvy figure and long, brown hair. She is something of an apprentice to Jo, but they aren’t close. Jo keeps Edwards at a distance for fear that Edwards will be killed and she will end up feeling guilty about it. This coldness spawns a deep hatred in Edwards for Jo, despite others, especially Ben, telling her not to take it seriously. Edwards can manipulate plants, but she can’t create them and needs to have one near to her to use. She doesn’t control her powers well, and once grew a whole tree through the floor out of nervousness. She keeps plants strung all around her apartment. She is sarcastic, but not rude. She has a forceful but cheerful personality, and she will literally hold a grudge for years. She’s pleasant and hard not to like, but those on her bad side will find her passive-agressiveness extremely uncomfortable.
My main character is named Eleos al Deun, after the Greek god of compassion. He's quiet but bold. He longs to be a warrior, but his talent is healing, and instead, his best friend is chosen to be the champion. The story follows Eleos as he first fails his best friend by turning a blind eye to his pain and later trying to redeem himself.
oo sounds neat!
My character is kinda messed-up, but I still like him a lot(Yes, maybe it's because he has freaky powerful superpowers…:D)! He has a really awful past I'm thinking about making a sequel about. I've made several drawings of him, but it's hard to the right expression of I-could-care-less on his face plus My-self-confidence-is-definitely-not-unjustified while AT THE SAME TIME I'm-super-insecure-under-all-this-so-please-don't-push-me-away-even-if-I-push-you-away

My character is named Myrah?
She is spacey and likes to draw. She's hapa (like me :) ) and likes the color dark green. Her parents are abusive and she gets beaten on the regular. She uses her drawings to escape to a forest she tried to run away to when she was super young.
After a while she starts to see the forest and the creatures in it in her everyday life but no one else know they're there. She pulls herself away from her own terrible reality and tries to live in her imagination. The mythical friends she creates represent her conciousness ( <– spelling) outside her body and after a while they start to tell her that the only way for her to truly join them and run away to the forest again is to die
My character's name is Adaline Troy, but she prefers to go by her middle name, Constance. She is the fictional version of myself - my story is about my real life struggle with my mum's cancer diagnosis. She is a control freak with ridiculously high standards, and a problem with perfectionism, and is also a chronic migraine sufferer. Constance has a severe nervous twitch and a problem with punctuality, she NEEDS for things to be on time and can't do anything if she isn't the centre of attention as she thrives on others energy. She has a bad history with neurotic breakdowns. She becomes collateral damage of her mother's spiral out of control due to side effects of recovery medication, and must realise that her mother was the real villain of her life, and becoming increasingly controlling. Yes this all really happened to me, and happens to her. It's depressing as shit.
My current character is a fifteen-year-old peasant girl named Kalia Anzora. Due to past tragedies in her life, Kalia has learned to care only about vengeance. She has blond hair, blue eyes and wears a piece of scarlet silk around her arm to symbolize a dangerous secret.

My character is named Laila Alimere, a fourteen year-old Muslim girl living in Niagara Falls, New York. Laila has medium olive skin, with rich dark brown eyes so deep that they're almost black. She has been kidnapped and sexually harassed on multiple occasions, which led her to start a feminist movement with one of her friends. Laila is an amazing actress and has the most flowing, melodious voice you can imagine, which is why she is enrolled in theater school and auditions for various plays every year, usually getting one of the main parts. Leila's parents are not very strict with her (religion-wise), and are thankfully very accepting of her sexual orientation (lesbian). She loves wearing hijabs, particularly her light berry red one, and is very witty and quick, but compassionate and forgiving. She is terrified of thunder and lightning, and has claustrophobia. Laila's memory is incredibly sharp, and she is very logical and methodical, while at the same time being artistic, hence her love for acrylic painting.
Ok so I haven't exactly figured everything out about her yet, but anyways, my main protagonist is named Lux and is 17 years old. She has crazy firery untamable hair, pale skin, freckles and clear blue eyes. She is rather short, and gets grumpy when people point it out.
She values honesty and trust very high and hates lying, but is very good at it herself. She doesn't believe in love at first sight, and calls bullsh*t any time someone says it happened to them. She has a very spontaneous and adventurous personality. And other than that, she loves pranks, and just humor in general.
She has a bad habit of judging people before she knows them, and because she is stubborn, it's very hard for her to change her mind.
Lux parents died when she was 15, and she's been in a foster home since, but applied for early emancipation, and was granted it.
She loves singing and has done so for most of her life. She is very good at math, but hates english.
Her favorite dish is swedish meatballs, but her favorite thing to eat over-all is strawberries.
ik this thread is old as hell but im bumping cus op is me and i wanna see everyones characters again!! (also maybe ill actually reply this time lmao)
Oooo this looks fun!
Not really sure what story to put him in yet but here is Jake Harley.
Jake has a hard time because no one can pronounce his name right when they first meet. Seems odd, don't it? Well it's actually said Jack Harley. He is from a pack of werewolves that were chased out of there territory and got seperated from one of their cubs, Jake. Being too young to write and only knowing his name by sound, Jake ran into another kid and they beccame friends. The other kid was also young and sadly a bad speller. He tried to spell Jakes name buuuuttt… It kinda stuck and now thats his name. He lives with his first friend and they are both now 16/17.
