A character in one of my fantasy stories is a hellhound that can turn into a human. Similar to being a werewolf I guess. When in his hellhound form he has three heads. Of course each head has its own brain and a unique personality. My struggle here is what to do with those personalities when he's in human form. Is it insensitive to give him multiple personalities? I don't want to upset anyone but I can't think of anything else to do with him. Does anyone have a suggestion of what else to do? Should I leave him the way he is? Remove him completely?
So, I have the same with Cerberus. He doesn’t appear my series, but I think what you could do is like a conjoined twin (or in this case triplets). Or you go with each head controls a different part of the brain that controls the body. Idk if this helps or not. Maybe you could tell me more about your idea
I don’t think this is insensitive if you do your research on it! I think him having a personality disorder that results in him having multiple personalities is a really interesting way to parallel the three heads in his hellhound form. There’s a lot of different types of personality disorders out there; my suggestion is to do some research and figure out what might fit him best, and go from there. As long as you’re making sure he’s representative of an actual person with a personality disorder, and not a stereotype, I think you should be okay! Good luck on your story!
