So Im writing a foster kid character but I don't want him to be too stereotypical. You see, I came up with the idea but recently I watched a movie with a character who was so similar to my character I think I might have been influenced with these stereotypes while creating him. Any tips?

I'd say the big one is not presenting him as a 'problem child' that's 'too difficult to be loved'. I feel like most foster kid characters I see are painted as bad kids who misbehave constantly and go through 5 homes a year. Granted, I've never been in the foster care system as a foster kid or taken in a foster kid (though I fostered and later adopted a cat), I know a lady who fosters kids and while one was an absolute asshole, the others were pretty nice from what I remember.

i am a foster kid any every kid has a little trauma so maybe this kid could have the trauma but not let it show an dmake him have one of the easier kind. i guess and if you want…. i don't know
