First of all, I utterly adore the concept of someone who is so caring, and yet will cut you down to size with an expertly timed roast. And I don't think that the phrase "passive-aggressive dragon lady" really fits her, because you've got a lot of layers and room to build in complexities.
That being said, I think it would be all too easy to play into the dragon lady archetype, so be wary of that. Anything that seems too "final horror/action movie girl" should probably be avoided.
Also love that you worked religion in there! That totally gives her some depth.
The only thing I strongly dislike is her name. Kariana Donoro is a bit of a mouthful.
