I'm writing a novel, and my protagonist is a ISTP.
I've read that they are some of the more thinking thinkers on the MB scale, and since I'm one of the more feeling feelers, I was wondering if anyone had input on how to write them.

I'm INFP, so kinda close… sorry, I prolly can't help

@Abriel

INFPs are almost always writers. Stereotypically, they find it easy to describe how they feel when writing, but have trouble talking about it in everyday conversation. They tend to feel more at home in stories or fantasy. At least that's how I am?
Sorry, just hijacked an ISTP post to talk about myself. lol

ISTPs don't usually do well in school because they like to engage their hands and eyes in things. They're curious, friendly, and spontaneous. They can come off as aggressive, stubborn, and insensitive in social situations. They want to be practical and live in the moment. They are good in a crisis because they aren't afraid to get their hands dirty. Hope that helps?

I am ISTP and I'm quite aggressive and stubborn, like our friend here states. I'm indeed insensitive in some emotional issues when people ask me for advice because for me is easy to see the practical way to go, disregarding feelings. I have a way to say things that can be harsh for some, it's not intentional. I think more than I talk and I plan more than I do. I need to understand the mechanicals of anything I'm about to do or to use. I observe and analyze and then act on it. I'm not good with long-term plans and have a hard time visualizing myself in the future. I use and focus A LOT on the logic and technicalities. I'm really passionate about the things I like, when it comes to people too, even though I don't show it. I do like being with friends, but time alone is a must for me or else I'd go insane. Aaaaand that's basically it. Hope it helps, x

I'm sorry it took so long, I was on a trip without a phone or any connection to the outside world whatsoever. I take that the character is Ellen Weaver, who I already love… I'm probably biased though. It is a strong characterisation, I could see myself in her, I even share some of her mannerisms, especially the things that reflect her passion for what she likes and her beliefs.
I don't know if this helps, but I noted that she has a strong connection with her mother and that her most precious possession is a picture of them both plus her sister. I am a hoarder of sorts. I keep everything people close to me give me, be it pictures, drawings, letters or trash, I keep it all boxed in a drawer, but what I like the most are the things that require thought and time for the other person to produce. I'm talking about postcards they thought I might like, with brief letters of what they were thinking, or notes about a conversation we had before turned into an origami star. A photograph is good, and I do care for them, but not as much as something made for me, even if it was written in a rush or sloppily made.
Of course, I don't know the background of this photo, and it probably has strong sentimental connotations, but if it doesn't, do find a way to make it stick out more than other regular stuff.
I really liked her. I hope to see where you take her.
