So here's the background of this:
My OC's name is Eve. Her little sister is Charlie, and her their mom is Andrea. Together, their names add up to the acronym 'A.C.E'. Eve and Charlie's dad left the three of them when Eve (15y/o) was young, so she can't remember him. All their mom says about him is that he was dangerous, and that the three of them are better off without him.
Years later, Andrea brings home a charming man she met on a business trip, and surprises Eve and Charlie with the news of the two of them being together.
I want this man to be our A-hole. Not to Andrea, however, but to Charlie and Eve. He's that cliche 'jerk stepdad' kind of guy, who's terrible with the widow's kids behind her back but the caring and awesome guy around Andrea.
So what I'm trying to do is name him. Bringing him into the story would be adding another acronym to A.C.E, and for comic relief I want it to be terrible. I've narrowed it down to C.A.G.E (his name would be Gavin) and A.C.N.E (his name would be Nathan). I've written down my OC's description of the two acronyms:
C.A.G.E: 'I felt as if the three of us were caged in with him, and that there would be no escape."
A.C.N.E: 'Just like our once-A.C.E-now-A.C.N.E, he mirrored it. Nathan was annoying, embarrassing, and most of all he was hard to get rid of.'
What do you guys think? After reading the information I've given you, which do you think would be a better name for A-hole stepdad?
I think the cage acronym would work the best.
