One of my characters, who is probably not at all qualified to be a therapist, and her very frustrating friend who needs to learn more about humanity, are giving any of your characters a therapy session. Now this is a character chat, so pop right in, no need to ask or post your character. If they aren’t fully humanoid however, please give a short description of what they look like.
Serenade sat fidgeting in her chair, waiting for her first patient. Her wings fluttered behind her slightly.
(She looks like a normal human, but with huge dove wings.)
Avery looks like he had been shoved into the room, muttering some very colorful words as he makes his way over to the desk.
“So, tell me your problems sir.” Serenade sighs frustratedly. The woman sitting beside her appears to be asleep.
Outside the room, a young girl fiddled with her hair. She didn't want to be here, but whatever. Someone had gone into the room, and she was waiting for her appointment with a mixture of dread, and eagerness to get it over with. Maybe it would even be fun.
(the rules say anybody can, so just jump in! AKA it's better to ask for forgiveness than permission.)
"My problem is that I don't want to be here and my brother forced me too." Avery growled, picking up his phone to a text messege from his brother that read You have PTSD or something, get help.
Serenade suppressed a laugh.
“What I mean is, do you have anything that I can actually solve? That’s my job anyhow.”
"I literally have no clue, I just learned English." Avery muttered, clicking his phone off and putting it back into his pocket.
The girl started pacing, trying to avoid eye contact with the others waiting. She suppressed a sigh, wondering if she looked as insane and out of place as she felt. This whole 'being normal around humans' thing was a lot harder than her parents had made it sound.
“Well, then I’m afraid you’re going to have to leave. There are other people waiting.” Serenade pointed to the door, not really that disappoints that she had to kick out her first patient. She had a lot of people to get through.
Adriana straightened, hearing a commotion. deep breath, stay calm, you are a normal. She took a deep breath and mentally prepared the list of things she had to say, short and to the point.
"Can do!" Avery said, giving a two fingered salute before vanishing in a puff of steam smelling like seafoam.
“Okay, who’s next?” She called out, careful not to wake her ‘assistent’.
Adrianna raised her hand and walked over. "I am. My name's Adriana, I'm 15 years old, and… Wait, that steam smells like…" She sniffed the air, her excellent sense of smell alerting her to the odd difference in the air.
“What steam?” Serenade cocked her head lightly, searching for the same smell as Adrianna but finding nothing.
"Oh, nevermind. I thought I saw something, but I guess it was just me. Anyway, I'm here because I have a lot of problems!" She gave a fake enthusiastic smile, brushing her dark hair over her shoulder and giving an awkward thumbs up.
“Well get on with it. I have a lot of people to get through and I want to finish as many as possible before she wakes up.” Serenade points to the woman laying in a chair beside her, her head lolling back as she slept. The woman had ashy gray skin, naturally black lips and and hair. What was strangest about her was that she had a crown of horns, as in two big horns jutting from her forehead and a ring of smaller ones circling her head.
Adriana watched the sleeping woman while she started to talk. "So, I recently found out, my parents adopted me from their cousins, because after my grandpa's older brother went evil and my grandma killed him, except she didn't and he survived, his daughter had me, and the my mom killed him and my dad killed my parents, except it might have been an accident. Either way, my grandpa was a psychopath and my real parents were almost as bad. Now, I'm technically in line for a throne my adoptive parents should never have had, and I could technically steal the crown from the both. And I have four adopted siblings, the youngest of which is a mind reader who found out our adoptive parents killed her real parents, and now she's trying to take over the world." Adriana paused. "It's been a pretty crazy month."
Serenade sat in stunned silence for a moment.
“That’s a lot. Where do you want to start?” She asked dumbly, not really sure if she was up to this after all.
Adriana grinned. "Yeah, it's crazy complicated. Maybe with my little sister who's trying to take over the world? She's a mind reader, so she's basically been exposed to the worst stuff on the planet, because that's what my adoptive parents deal with on a regular basis." She sat down on the floor, looking up at her new therapist.
“That sounds tough. Um, to be honest I’m probably not that qualified to be a therapist, but here we go. So, were you close with your sister?”
"Not really, the rest of my siblings are all around my age, so she's always been an outsider. Plus, she always got mad at us for thinking anything at all mean, so she really spent all her childhood raising hundreds of rabbits at our other greatgrandparents' farm. They're awesome, though."
“So, what do you think made her try to take over the world?”
"She's really seen the bad stuff in the world, so I think she's trying to get rid of all the people who have done bad things. She just doesn't realize that's not how the world works."
