And suddenly, they were in rome
It was late afternoon there, and the sun was shining in a bright periwinkle sky. They had appeared right in front of the Colosseum, and Nyx gasped and smiled.
"You like?" He said
"Very much. It's just like in Anne's books."
"Yeah, can you believe it was built in a day?"
Nyx laughed. "That's just a figure of speech."
"No, it actually was built in a day." He said, lying
She rolled her eyes at him. "Even you, Mr. All-Powerful, couldn't have done this in a day."
"I witnessed it myself." He said, totally bullshiting
"Oh, witness." She grinned. "But you didn't help at all."
"Nope!" He said, not lying about that part
"I expected as much." She looked around, noticing that people were staring at them. They made quite a sight, Nyx in her blue dress and combat boots, Vozreal in his 7'4" loud suit glory.
"I'm just messing with ya! It was built in 5 weeks."
She punched him in the arm. "I knew it. Now, c'mon, let's go see the Colosseum!" Grabbing his hand, she tugged him through the crowds towards the entrance.
He made a genuine smile now. He followed her to the Colosseum.
They proceeded to explore the Colosseum. Nyx kept spouting facts about it.
"Very nice place…" Vozreal observed
"I know!" Nyx's teal eyes sparkled, but dimmed again when she said, "Until you realise just how much carnage has gone on in here."
"Gladiator fights…" He mentioned
"Gladiator fights, animal killings, Christian killings, criminal fights, criminals against animals, Emperor Commodus standing on a platform and throwing sticks and stones and shooting arrows at 500 bears until all of them were dead…" Nyx ticked them off on her fingers.
"We get it…" He said
"What? I like history, and it's not like Anne ever brought us any new books. Well, she did, but it was once in a blue moon."
"I lived through history, dear." He stated
Nyx huffed good-naturedly.
They explored the Colosseum for a little while longer, and then Nyx suggested that they go get gelato.
