Nyx grabbed his wrists. "C'mon, I promise not to kick you this time."

He had a mischievous glimmer in his eyes as he came closer

Nyx pulled him down next to her on the beanbag.

"Wha-" He said, falling onto the soft beanbag

"There." She kissed his chin.

"What's the catch??" He asked, suspicious. She was acting kinda sus

"Nothing." Her eyes were innocent.

"I sense lies…"

"You never told me that was one of your powers." She smiled.

"I used to be a deal-maker, remember? Lies were my forte."

"Yeah." She hooked an arm around his chest.

"What are you up to?"

"Nothing!" She laughed. "It's you who's being suspicious. I'm not going to kick you again, I promise."

"Okay then…" He dropped his guard slightly

She noticed the look in his eyes. "It really does hurt, doesn't it? Sorry."

"Thanks…" He groaned

She bit her lip, unsure of what to do.

Nyx sighed and kissed back.

Nyx froze. Those three words again.
She wanted to say I love you back, but the words wouldn't come, sticking in her throat.
Instead, she smiled and nodded, rubbing her thumb along the ridge of his cheekbone.

Nyx curled up into a ball, knees brushing against his chest.
