"Well, is the door there?" he asked, standing up. "If not, then yes, he can."
"Well, is the door there?" he asked, standing up. "If not, then yes, he can."
"Of course I can do that. I can highly concentrate light into powerful beams. There isn't much in here, so I can't do anything crazy strong, but I can do that," Lux said as he shifted to human again
"No time for questioning at the moment, so…let's go? Find out why the hell we're here? Where we are? Who put us here?" Melanie offered.
As they peer outside, they realize they're in a thick forest in the middle of the night, the moon peeking its way through the branches of the trees like a curious cat peeking around a doorframe.
"Are. You. Shitting. Me. Right. Now." Melanie's eyes widened as she looked outside. "Who would have a cement room in the middle of the woods?" Melanie walked out, yelling into the darkness.
"You're trying to hard to understand what can't be understood. Just cal down for a moment." He walked out of the concrete box with a bored expression on his face.
"Okay. I'm calm." Melanie took a deep breath, "Why are we, complete strangers, in the middle of a forest?"
"Why do you ask questions that nobody can fucking answer?"
"You told me to be calm, nothing else." Melanie sighed in frustration. "So, what do we do? I don't know about this area."
"Well, you forget that you're hanging out with a living lightbulb, so I could light the place up if we need it now that we're outside," Lux hummed, not fazed in the slightest as they walked out
"Yeah, but you're quite the annoying lightbulb. And I'd rather you not give our location away to anyone nearby who wants us in that." Melanie points a thumb towards the cement room they had just escaped.
"And you're scared of someone who put us in a box? Trust me, if they wanted to kill us, they would have put us in a box full of scorpions, or acid," Lux said with a roll of his eyes
"Scorpions don't kill unless they're threatened, and you could avoid the acid if you turned into a chandelier. Acid isn't cheap." Melanie concluded, looking smugly at Lux. "Oh yeah, and unless you want me calling you, 'Lightbulb,' then I suggest you give us a name to call you by."
"Last time I checked, I already told at least one of you. So I'll say it again–my name is Lux," the dragon hummed, folding his arms across his chest
"Acid isn't that cheap," Baylee added, staring into the forest without actually seeing anything.
"Okay Lux." Melanie noted as she turned to Lee. "I guess, but who'd bother to capture us like that? And put us together?"
"Again, don't know, don't care. I could fly out of here if I wanted, really," Lux said, hands moving up to now rest behind his head with a small smile
"I couldn't care less if you left, Lightbulb." Melanie lied. "It's better you're not here to annoy us anyways."
(would he actually be able to leave? or would he hit like a forcefield or smth?)
(Idk, but I'm assuming that they're all stuck together, and, if Lux did leave, he would be forced to return to everyone else.)
(I'm thinking a force field. They're gonna have to fight some jank pretty soon
(oh fun)
"He couldn't leave if he tried," Baylee mumbled, finally blinking.
"Sorry? What do you mean by that? I'm contemplating whether to trust you or not." Melanie glanced at Lee in slight suspicion.
He turned to her voice. "There's a force field. I can taste it. About a mile in every direction, including up."
