I noticed there wasn't a discussion for this series so I decided to make one! Just a place to discuss Selection-related topics and just fangirl/fanboy in general.

You definitely should! It's really good.

Yeah lol, I recommended them to my friend and at first she was reluctant to read them because she thought they're gonna be a stereotypical romance but then she ended up finishing the series in like 3 days cuz of how good they were

I think the selection series is one of those that got me into reading. I loved them so much! I had a friend recommend them to me and we kinda just fangirled over them together. I just finished a re-read of them (minus the heir and the crown) and my love for them has grown.

@a_simple_writer I know it's a matter of personal preference, but I personally don't like Heir and Crown. I don't like Eadlyn as a protagonist nearly as much as I like America, and (don't @ me) I really don't ship Eadlyn and Eikko. I personally think she worked better with Kile, so that taints my opinion of these books a little. They're still great books due to Kiera Cass's writing, but I feel that the characters in the original three books were so much more developed, relatable, and overall likable.

@a_simple_writer, I have read them, actually. But I only have once, because I agree with @jupiter-sun; I found them boring and all of the above. It's just my opinion, though! I can see why people do like them, too. I'm pretty sure my sister likes them quite a bit.

Honestly, my fav part of Heir and Crown are all the callbacks to the original three books. THEY'RE SO SWEET!!
Also the bonus epilogue WRECKED MY FEELINGS HANDS DOWN ONE OF THE BEST PARTS OF THE WHOLE SERIES

idk if i thought he was that old but i definitely thought he was much older than Eadlyn

@jupiter-sun that makes sense. I personally really enjoyed them so that's why I recommended them. I haven't had a lot of peoples opinions on the sequel so… ¯_(ツ)_/¯ but I agree on the fact that Eadlyn and Kile should have been together. They were so cute.
