I am not educated in this subject at all but I'd still like to talk about it. I have read exactly 1 collection of short stories by Anton Chekhov, and I noticed they're very different than American/English stories. Most stories end with the hero winning or at least learning a lesson. Most of the stories I read didn't have a hero. Just a main character, who didn't actually have to do anything heroic. And almost none of the stories had a happy ending. They weren't all sad, they just left me thinking. 'Huh. What did I just read?' Sooo… does anybody else read Russian literature? And do you want to… talk about it I guess?
