Vulper took the proffered hand and shook it vigorously, from what he could tell this one wasn't going to kill him, he was going to sleep with one eye open though. "I'll follow you," said vulper "but let me know if you see any… let's say. angry gang members, I may or may not have some business with them depending on who they work for. But let us hope we don't run into anybody".
(Gah, sorry, I thought I replied to this!)
Bridger laughed. "Same here. I'm trying to get away from my old group right now." He turned away, starting to walk their decided path. "What about you? Where'd you come from?"
No problem good sir! life is weird… and mentally draining. I know this firsthand
Vulper stayed silent for a moment, then said "I came originally from the middle of the old USA state, Arizona, Started my, uhm. 'Hunting' business there. Got bored of that and moved on, now I kinda just go from town to town looking for work".
(Haaa thank-you!! <3 So true xD)
"Ah, interesting," Bridger said, then paused. "'Hunting?' What were you 'hunting?'"
His suspicions began to spark again, though he kept his pace causal and tone friendly. Hed met quite a few people who prized his kind for their skins. He wasn't eager to become a coat or wall decoration.
Vulper sighed "I had a feeling it would come to that, I'm hunting people. I kill them for money, Assasin and bounty hunter for hire".
"Oh, well, then I feel just peachy about that," Bridger said, a little jokingly. "Eh, solid enough work man. We gotta stay alive somehow. For me, I was part of this kinds gang thing for a while."
Vulper laughed "Gangs? Really? you? hah. You don't seem quite like the type but who am I to judge. most wouldn't put me down for a killer as soon as they saw me so I guess I can believe that".
(I'm back! Thanks so much for waiting!! <3)
"You might be surprised," Bridger said good-humoredly. "But hey, true. I can believe you run under the radar mst the time. Though hey, at least we both know how to fight and defend ourselves."
(No problem, I had to take a while off as well, Highschool is getting to me)
"I guess we can watch each other's backs then," Good naturedly said Vulper "It is kinda funny though, I've gotten a lot better at my profession from when I started. Cleaner kills and whatnot, but people seem to chase me further. Sort of anticlimactic wouldn't you think?"
(Ah, perfect timing then! ^^ I hope everything's going well for you now though :))
"Match made in heaven," Bridger said with a grin. "But yeah, I sure feel ya there. Finally I can fight worth a heck, and suddenly everyone's out for my blood. What's up with that, huh?"
He squinted across the landscape, trying to get a gauge on their location. "Dang, this sun's making life rough. Can you see if that's a tree way out there? Or a rock? I can't tell."
"Ehhh, can't tell. My eyes don't work too well in environments like this. Everything's the same temperature."
"Welp, we'll just have to go find out then," Bridger sighed. "I hope it ain't a rock, or we're headed the wrong way. Cross fingers and all that. So, where are you from? Like, originally? I haven't travelled that much, so I always like hearing about where people come from."
"I'm from a place that used to be called Pheonix Arizona, People still call the city Pheonix, it was one of the first places the shockwaves hit, it went up in fire so it made sense to call it pheonix".
(Hey, sorry I've been gone, I've got a lot of stuff going on rn, and keeping up with all my rps is getting hard C: I'll probably not be on much this weekend, but hopefully Monday I will be!)
"Huh." Bridger cocked his head, trying to recall if he'd heard of such a place. "Yeah…I think I had a great-Aunt or something from there. Or nearby. Maybe. Anyway. I'm from a place used to be called New York City. It's just a pile of rebar and concrete now, nothing to survive on. Darn glad to see the last of that place. Just one of the Floodplains now, like the rest of the east coast."
"New York," Said Vulper "Think I heard that once, some random people on the street were talking about it, Anyway. How long until we reach the outpost?"
"Ah, not for a ways. We're gonna have to get to the riverbed, then follow it for a few days at least. I'd give it a little under a week till we get to Carnage from here."
Bridger squinted into the distance again, then nodded. "Yup, that's a tree. We're right on track. Once wee get to that old cottonwood out there, we'll be at the riverbed."
"How is that thing still alive" Chuckled Vulper looking at the cottonwood that stood up against the horizon like some brooding sentinel.
"Good question," Bridger laughed. "They're hardy things, I guess. Maybe it's got some mutation that lets it survive for years without water."
He smiled at the tree.
"I like trees," he said. "They're pretty rad."
(Btw, I'm trying to figure out a system where I'm replying to my rps a least once every other day, but I have a ton of them, and I'm super busy, so I'm sorry if I'm still late sometimes!)
(no problem man :) I havnt been super active lately, I've been trying to get a teacher to send me a packet of grammar work to do over break as well as figure out why my days have been going by so freaking fast. October through December is always freakin hectic.)
"A mutated tree? Well that would be one freakin first, Perhaps we can extract its mutation so we don't die of thirst. Gettin tired of havin to put out a condenser every night"
(Hey! So sorry about this, but I can't keep up with all my rps, (clearly lol xD), and I'm trying to narrow myself down a little. I'm afraid what with college starting, and my job, I'm going to have to bow out of this one :/ I hope you had fun though, I sure did!! :D)
(no problem man, I had fun. And glad you did :D Peace and God bless you!)
(Thanks for understanding, and I'm so glad you had fun! Best of luck in your future RP adventures <3)
