"They're annoying and overexaggerated and. . . Did you know dimples are actually genetic mutations? You're mutated."

"Oh my god, I never knew that I was mutated." He said sarcastically as he put a hand over his heart to be dramatic.

"You know now."

"I knew that long ago, Nero."

"Mmhmm." She was startled by the sudden sound of a tray being slid into the room. FOOD!

The tray held a burger, salad, and some lemonade.

Avery groaned “it’s like we’re in prison!”

"Hey, it could be worse," Neri said, handing her an identical tray that was slid through the door.

She took the tray then took a bite of her burger

Lexi was uncharacteristically quiet as she was handed a tray. She was just processing and thinking and observing.

Nero took a sip of the lemonade. Could be worse.

Leon quietly took the tray and ate the burger. Why is it soggy?

"Well everyone," Nero said loudly, "I think we can all agree that this is better than the mystery meat our schools serve." She paused. "Your schools do have mystery meat, right?

"No….not really. By the way, what's mystery meat?"

"Meat. . . That you don't know the origin of. It's actually not that bad. . . Just a bit creepy. And this burger is definitely better than it."

"I have no clue what you're talking about but sure."
