”Shh it's ok. Aguanta stay strong, ” Val tried to reassure Cage. Her older brother used to do this when she was upset. Well most of the times he's say ”aguántate” (suck it up) but that's unimportant.

Cage would giggle at the weird word. Were he not scared to death. They reach the doors and are paired with another group. A small, dark skinned girl and a heavy ten year old boy.
(Going to bed)

Val's eyes searched around her. She couldn't figure out what they were supposed to do.

Tobie was starting to get nervous She had no idea why she was here.

The door closes behind them. A huge bird, perched on a twisting branch, is staring at them with tiny white eyes.

Ben starts to sweat, but excitedly. He starts to walk through the forest, forgetting the people by him. What did they want them to do?!
His hands start to feel hot, excitement boiling inside of him, remembering back in Lithuania. Starting fires for the street kids.

They have the kids 15 and younger pair up by fours, and Cage and Val are paired with the small, dark skinned girl and the heavy, pale boy. They put the heavy boy in front of Cage and the small girl in front of Val. A director stands by them.
"First are introductions," she directs.
Cage looks sheepishly over to the boy and musters a friendly smile. Finally! Something he was good at.
"Um, hi," he gives him a small wave," I'm Cageually. You can call me Cage."
The boy growls the name "Jerry" under his breath.

Hush lingers for a moment, staring back at the bird eerily. Abruptly she turns and starts to duck eastward through the bushes.

Ara stared up at a bird. It's an obvious camera or something. She then looked at the other around to see what the hell they were doing.

Val gave the girl in front of her a small wave. ”in Valentina but everyone just calls me Val, ” she explained.

(Ben is so going to get himself into trouble)
Ben smiles and the heat runs through his fingers, slowly turning them a light blue. He knew how to channel his powers in a way that the directors here wouldn't notice.
He catches sight of a big, grey something in the woods near him.
That's it. The directors wanted to see them in hand to hand combat.

The girl in front of Val kinda shrinks away.
"Umm… I'm Alex."
Their director raises an eyebrow, then huffs.
"Val. Demonstrate on your new partner your hand to hand combat skills. She will work as a moving target."
Alex's eyes go wide, but she doesn't protest.

Hush is still fighting through the brush when something wails near her.

A large, grey wolf standing on it's hind legs emerges from behind the brush. Ben stares up at it and glares.
I can take it.
It's a good two feet taller than him and snarls, it's teeth dripping.

Val’s eyes widened and she looked at Alex then at the director. Val new how to fight. She could easily hurt the girl in front of her. “Yeah I don’t think I’m going to do that,” she snared glaring at the director.

Ara saw the wolf and jumped back. A small amount of fire bursted from her hand and landing on the floor in front of her. She couldn’t fight that!

A red buzzer goes off, and guards come and take Ara out violently. Ben is more appalled by that than the wolf mutant in front of him. He turns back to it, not knowing if he should strike first.

The director growls under her breath.
"It doesn't matter what you want at the moment, Valentine." She steps forward threateningly.
"Your combat skills, please."

Ara struggles as she was being dragged away. Her hands warmed up slightly but they somehow kept her from activating her powers. “Let go of me!” She shouted.

They covered her mouth and dragged her out.
Ben stares up at the thing and it lunges at him. He dodges and grabs the back of it's neck with his hot hands. It yowls and claws at his arm, leaving a bloody gash. He yells, and kicks it with all his strength then grabs the front of it's neck. It has little time to yipe before it's eyes roll back into it's head and it goes limp. He steps back and huffs, holding his arm.

The director growls under her breath.
"It doesn't matter what you want at the moment, Valentine." She steps forward threateningly.
"Your combat skills, please."

“Well I’d be happy to show off my combat skills,” she said this with fake sweetness in her voice. At that moment she turned to the director and swung aiming for her face.

The director ducks and catches her hands, glaring.
"Fine then." She grabs Val's cheeks violently and turns her face so she can see heavy, pale boy beat up Cage behind the glass wall (they're separated by what seems to be a glass wall). The boy pounds on Cage who helplessly tires to dodge and hide.
"If you refuse to work with me, I'll pair your partner with that boy for the rest of his stay." she whispers angrily.

She quickly thought this through. This girl would easily get killed by The boy. “F-Fine I’ll fight her,” Val muttered pushing away from the director.

The director didn't smile, but sighed in approval.
"Kay then, get on with it. "

Val turned to the girl. She tried not to show any emotion on her face. She stepped towards her and mouthed an apology before swinging. It was as hard as when she swung at the director and she was aiming for her arm.

The girl ducks and whimpers a bit out of fear.
(Meanwhile Ben with a bleeding arm)

Val's heart dropped when the other girl looked upset. Every time she's ever fought, someone they had started it or deserved it. She has never just started a fight with someone. She kicked aiming for the other girls leg. Maybe if she's on the ground it'll look like she hurt her more than she did. Would they stop the fight then?
