Salutations all!

I've never roleplayed here on Notebook.ai, but I've roleplayed before in other places, and I've written a good handful of short stories (I'm also working on a novel atm, but that's besides the point). If anyone is looking to roleplay, I can help you figure out how– or if you already know how, I'm willing to participate.
I have a few rules though, so please don't ask me to roleplay if you cannot comply to them. Please don't take any of them personally and please do not be offended by them. Thank you!

#1: No sexual content whatsoever. No exceptions. I'll do romances if you like, but keep them appropriate please. I don't want a bunch of raunchy stuff. That's not what I'm here for.
#2: Please, MxF ships only. If you have a gay character and would like to use them, that is your right to do so and I respect that completely– but please, use them in a different roleplay, because it is also my right to prefer straight ships. I'm not trying to be rude, and I'm sorry if you take it that way, but I would greatly appreciate it if you would only do MxF ships in any roleplay you do with me. Thank you so much.
#3: If you have a super OP character, please don't go overboard with them– especially if they are a hero. We don't want them to overcome their antagonist too soon or it takes the fun out of the roleplay.
#4: I beg of you– no strong language. If you feel the need to use curse words, please use milder ones (no "f" bombs. No exceptions). I would very much respect and appreciate it if you would substitute your curse words for versions such as dang, heck, crap, etc.
#5: As far as violence is concerned, I'm not going to limit you too bad. As long as you're not giving me super gory horror descriptions, I'm down some epic battles and fight-scenes.
#6: Although I will do RPs that involve powered characters, I don't do any that involve demons, and I rarely partake in fantasy RPs (this is mostly because I'm not into magic RPs).

What I offer in a roleplay:
I typically will try to post whatever you prefer– whether that be long, descriptive posts or short, to-the-point posts. My grammar and punctuation are usually pretty good, but everyone has typos, so expect a few of those here and there. I prefer genres such as sci-fi, dystopia, action, and/or speculative fiction. I like roleplays that involve characters with powers– but preferably not fantasy/magic, more like "we don't know what cause these powers" type-thing. These kinds of roleplays seem to sway to the whole "laboratory testing on these powered peeps" deal we see in a lot of different stories, but as common as it is, I love it. I'll definitely still do non-powered RPs if you prefer.

If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Also, if we do a roleplay and you would like for me to draw your characters, I can. I'm not a PROFESSIONAL, but if you like comic-book/anime style (I don't know what else to call it since it's my own style) drawings, then mine aren't too shabby. I use a digital format, too, so it's not just pencil scribbles.

@Moriarty

Depends on what kind of thing you like. Typically I'm more of an action-oriented roleplayer than anything, but I like to have some ships here and there. What book genres do you usually prefer?

@Moriarty

Okay PERFECT then!! I actually don't think I possess the capability to do a romance-based plot. I usually do dystopian stories, sci-fi stories, fantasy stories, or things similar because I get bored if the characters and plot are intriguing. Generally, I use fantasy creatures (merfolk, centaurs, dwarves, etc.) but leave magic out of the picture, but we don't have to do that by any means. 😊

@Moriarty

Do you want to come up with a basic plot, or do you prefer to just wing it? Also, do you like planning out characters beforehand or let them flesh out on their own? OR do you already have some super snazzy characters that you want to use?

@saor_illust school

haha yes it's the latter option. recently made a new character for my new rp, but i'd like another one to flesh her out. so, on that note, did you want to make character bio forms, or…

@Moriarty

I'm not going to lie; I really don't mind. If you want to know about my characters some, I'll slap together some bios, but if you're eager to get started I'm more than happy to just dive right in. I haven't made my characters yet, but that won't take long no matter which way we do it.

@Moriarty

Okiedokie. How many characters are you going to use, probably? I don't mind. You can have as many as you want. I'll probably have one main one and a couple others that kinda float around (not literally) in the roleplay and appear as needed. Are we going to use fantasy creatures, such as the aforementioned centaurs, mefolk, dwarves, etc. etc. etc? Do you usually use magic in your roleplays?

{How is this for a bio?}

Name:
Age:
Gender:
Brief Personality Description:
Physical Description:
(If we do people with powers or special creatures, we'll make a section for that too, but if not, will this suffice? If you need more info that's no problem)

Also, I'm sorry for all the questions and stuff; I just like to make sure the other person is content and that I'm not just taking control of everything and being like "THIS IS THE WAY WE'RE GOING TO DO IT." Plus I don't have a preference on most things so I legit don't mind. I think my only preferences were specified in the "rules" I posted as the first post of this discussion, so everything else is probably up for whatever you enjoy! ^u^

@saor_illust school

Alright! the questions are fine. if we do not use people with powers or special creatures, then yeah, that bio will work. i'm probably only gonna use about 1-3 characters depending on what the plot is. Most RPs I'm in do use magic, but if we don't that's fine with me and fantasy creatures are fine!

@saor_illust school

Sounds good! Do you have any plot ideas? Or I could go get a generator so I don't reuse the same plot idea which is what I tend to do a lot… hehe

@Moriarty

Unless you just don't want to use the same plot idea, I don't mind to use one you've used before. After all, I've probably never used it! XD but of course, if you're tired of that one, feel free to grab a generator. 🙂 I don't really have any specific plots in mind.

@saor_illust school

Here's a bunch of plot ideas I found interesting :)

  • Cats are really aliens and have been watching us since the beginning of time. And when they find someone intelligent enough, they steal their souls and reincarnate them into alien cats.
  • The world split in half—right down the middle—and no one knows why. The only scientist with answers has been kidnapped.
  • A deadly virus infiltrates American soil, “kills” others—but is believed to be a hoax created by the government.
  • The Great War left the people of her kingdom stranded on a tethered island in the clouds…
    The factory you work at is frequently rated “Top 10 Places to Work” across the country. Workers have wonderful health benefits, generous salaries, and plenty of paid vacation time. When your co-worker at the assembly line mysteriously vanishes, it’s up to you and [your friend] to uncover the evil truth of what the factory is manufacturing and put a stop to it.
  • After being involuntarily committed into the psych ward for being delusional, a patient must somehow convince the doctors all she experiences is real. She is not crazy – and neither are the other patients.
  • Legend has it, if you stand in front of a mirror holding a cup and a candle you can jump between dimensions.

Let me know if any of these are interesting at all to you :)

@Moriarty

These are all super cool! Hm… I really like the deadly virus one, the Great War and the factory one, and the psych ward one. Those three are my favorites, but I don't know which one to choose! I think I might be leaning towards the factory one, but the rest sound so amazing– it's just too hard to choose! Do you have a preference?

@saor_illust school

Heh, I don't really have a favourite, I like them all :) that's why you're seeing them.i guess i can eliminate the deadly virus one, as i don't see how that could fit into rping, and oh wait. I have a very large bias towards the cat one. I just remembered that's probably why i chose it haha buuut we don't have to do that one

@Moriarty

Cats are the greatest (one of the characters in my story universe is actually a guy who shapeshifts into a cat, and I love him). How would that particular prompt work its way into an RPG? Like… would most of our characters be people or alien cats? Would all of our smart characters end up getting transformed into alien-kitties? Are the cats the villains? If so, are they the only villains? Would all of our roleplay consist solely of cats hunting down to smart people and transforming them into cats? Are all existing cats people from the past?
(I obviously ask a lot of questions. My apologies!😂)
Of course, whether we do this prompt or a different one, I'm more than willing to incorporate cats into it, one way or another.

@saor_illust school

haha that's fine, we don't have to do cat-themed lol mostly i prefer irl cats cause i can hold them and then croon over how cute i think they are haha. and as for incorporating it, i guess i was thinking about how we act humans or something and then eventually one of us gets taken over by the cats… ok, nvm i'm leaning more towards the psych ward one or the factory one now sorry that was just my line of thought

@Moriarty

No, you're totally fine! The idea sounds really awesome, but I'm honestly an overthinking individual, so I overthink everything and then question it. I think the cat thing would make a really interesting story, especially if some subplots were weaved in, but I just thought it would be a little difficult as a roleplay.
Do you prefer the psych ward one or the factory one? I feel like we have a lot of interesting ways to go with either of them, so both intrigue me.
