The huge growth spurt the site saw at the end of 2017 continues onward, so we're still seeing patches of slowness at peak times. I've significantly upgraded the machines running the site to handle everyone (and it's gone well), but I also need to upgrade the database soon, which will require about 5 minutes of downtime.

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up that this will occur soon (date/time TBD), and that the slowness we're seeing will get better afterwards.

This upgrade will also include some great data-based features on the back-end, such as redundancy in the database (to prevent against emergency disk failure) and more concurrent connections (which we're currently maxing out), which should also help a ton with site speed overall.

Doing my best to keep everything running smoothly. More information coming soon!

Thanks, you two. No need to thank me though — I enjoy using Notebook.ai as much as anyone else! :)

Since Wednesday is generally our slow day (and we've got a lull of users online right now), this maintenance will occur today at 5:00PM. There's a big, ugly banner at the top of each page until then (sorry about that!), but I want to make sure nobody clicks "save" on anything right before-hand, just to make sure no one accidentally saves while maintenance is happening (because saves will not work).

I expect the maintenance to take about 5-10 minutes, and then we will be back and good to go for quite a long time. The last time the database was upgraded was approximately 1 year ago, for reference.
