My theme is about the power you have over yourself. Nadine fears that she will never live up to her mother's high standards and that she will fail as a ruler leaving everything in her kingdom to crash and burn. She is doing everything she can to be a good ruler, but avoids anything bold or risky. She lives her life playing safe. This is challenged when Emperor Theo Aspen Caladiel ll begins to 

SIDE PLOT

So there's this neighboring planet. And they see Chatoyant and all its resources and just how awesome it is and the power that comes with it. And their ruler is quite jealous of Chatoyant. And, knowing that Theo is extremely selfish AND egotistical, he sends an assassin to hunt down his beloved mother, and he succeeds. Theo is crushed and enraged by the murder of his mother, and as predicted, begins to manipulate time in effort to bring her back. The ruler of the neighboring planet plans to let him do this, causing a rift in his family once his plan is discovered, even meaning they may be without a ruler once his crimes are discovered. Enter the ruler of the neighboring planet. He plans to either attack while they're weak or without a ruler and just completely take over.
