One night on the streets of Coral Springs, two men were standing behind a plaza with one having a bag of cocaine in his hand and the other a roll of money. The two men exchanged their goods and walked away. The man who gave away the cocaine was then met by Kiara, who was wearing street clothes. "Hey, you got any stuff on ya?" asked Kiara. The man took a good look at Kiara and was thoroughly impressed. "Don't worry, sweetie. I got the stuff." said the man. As he was reaching in his pocket to get it, he turned around to show it to her only for her to point a gun at his face. She smiled and created a gorilla that took some handcuffs from her and it cuffed him. After they arrived at her car, the gorilla opened the door and threw him inside.
The next day, Corbin showed up to the lair, but only Natalia was there reading a book. "Where's Gyrene and Lupa? Are they okay?" asked Corbin. Natalia smiled and looked up. "You don't need to worry about them. They're in the bathroom." Natalia closed her book and stood up. Corbin noticed that the book Natalia was reading was a Bible. "Oh. A Bible." "Don't tell me you're surprised." "Not at all. I could tell by your behavior that you were a Christian. Which kind are you?" "I'm a Lutheran. What about you? Do you believe in God?" "I'm don't know. There are many different gods, and I can't be sure of who's real. You're not gonna try and convince me yours is, are you?" Natalia looked down and laughed. "Only if you want me to."
Andrew and Kiara walked into the room. "Good morning. So, what information do you have for us?" asked Corbin. "It's about the organization we've been fighting. I managed to acquire more intel by capturing one of their soldiers. Apparently, they're planning to intimidate owners of the Hard Rock Casino. The man in question who'll be doing the intimidating is Scars and Stripes, aka Seth Person." said Kiara. Andrew and Natalia were taken aback but Corbin was confused. "You guys know who he is?" asked Corbin. "He's an ex-Convocation agent." said Andrew. Corbin was completely surprised. "What? Why was he fired?" asked Corbin. "Something about the organization not aligning with his desires. Frankly, I'm glad he's gone. He was an embarrassment to the agency." said Natalia. "Still, he's definitely dangerous. Before he quit, he was in the rank of Commodore." said Andrew. Corbin started blinking very fast. "I'm sorry, what? You mean we'll have to go up against an ex-Commodore? But that's the highest rank." "We'll stand a chance if we take him on together. Still, we should be careful." said Andrew.
"So how long was Seth part of the Convocation?" "Five years. His last three years had him as a Commodore." said Kiara. "He used to be a great Convocation Agent. Not only did he bring down criminals, he used to be friendly with us." said Natalia. "Sadly, everything changed when he was fired. The reason is that he shot a hostage between the eyes." said Andrew. "Why?" asked Corbin. "From his perspective, no hostage meant no advantage. He claimed the Convocation didn't have the guts necessary to truly uphold order so he left. He even went so far as to claim that his relationship to the Convocation was unfulfilling and empty." said Natalia. "I get the picture. He's just a terrible person."
Somewhere in Deerfield, a man was walking with two security agents to his car. One agent checked the car and gave the ok. One of the agents heard a laser and pushed the CFO out of the way. The other agent noticed Seth on the roof and started firing at him. However, Seth dodged the shots. The CFO got in his car and the agents followed suite. Seth got ready to fire. However, just before he was about to pull the trigger, he ducked a laser shot and turned around to see that it was fired by Kiara.
"We haven't really been informed on who's been attacking us since you seem to take everyone as prisoner. So I must say, it's very surprising to see all of you. By the way, who's the new guy?" "His name's irrelevant to you." said Natalia. "Come on, Miekka. You were so much kinder than that. What's changed?" Natalia threw a ball of fire at him that he dissipated with a vibration shield. "You lost the right to call me that when you forfeited your job."
Seth shrugged his shoulders and fired a vibration blast at them. Kiara and Natalia used their respective powers together to block his attack. Andrew jumped by making his legs springy and fired at him, but he dodged with ease and fired a laser at him, but Corbin absorbed it. "Light Absorption. A useful ability. Guess I won't need to rely on this for a while." He put his gun away and fired a vibration beam from his hand. Corbin dodged and fired a beam of darkness at him, but he blocked it with a vibration shield. "Oh, so you can control darkness. Your power isn't exactly something that most people consider nice or comforting. Are you sure you wanna stay with the Convocation? I could take you under my wing."
"Please, I've wanted to be a Convocation agent for 14 years. Why would I want to join up with disgusting garbage like you?" asked Corbin. Kiara created an electric web to wrap him up. Andrew ran at him with his vulcanized fist while Natalia charged with a staff to attack him. He blocked the attacks with a vibration shield around himself before expanding it and blowing the two agents away. He generated a vibration beneath Kiara, sending her flying into the air and weakening her mental strength necessary to hold the web, letting him break it with ease.
"That's why. I heard about how you got your ass whooped by Crocodile. Now I could easily beat him with one arm. So what are you even doing right now?" Corbin summoned tentacles to strike him, but he blocked with a vibration shield. Kiara landed safely on the roof thanks to being carried by bioelectric hawks while Andrew and Natalia came back to regroup. "Don't let him get to you. This guy doesn't know the first thing about loyalty." said Andrew. "Like I said, I made up my mind to become a Convocation Agent. There's nothing this worthless excuse of a human could say or do that would convince me to be anything else."
Seth surrounded The Swarm in a bubble of vibrations that exposed them to such pain and agony. He got out his gun and aimed between Andrew's eyes. He fired, but Corbin still absorbed the blast. As a result of witnessing such a feat of will, he was in complete disbelief. Andrew started running out of the bubble and fired an air bullet at Seth. He dodged but struggled. "Do you actually plan on beating me yourself?" Andrew extended three extra arms from the back of his neck and pulled his teammates out of the bubble.
"Of course not. I'm not an idiot." said Andrew. Corbin grabbed his gun and fired lasers at his own hand, absorbing them. Natalia created a glaive and ran to attack. However, he propelled her backwards with a vibration made by her footstep. Andrew took advantage and stretched his hand over his mouth and nose and flattened his hand, suffocating him. Seth concentrated a vibration bubble around Andrew's head, weakening him enough to let him remove his arm. As Scars was catching his breath, Corbin put all of his power into a blast that connected, knocking Seth off the roof.
He ended up hitting the wall of a building. Kiara created a large dragon that flew to grab him. After coming back, it threw him to the roof as hard as it could. Seth got back up, still reeling to fight. "I must say, newbie. That was a really good move. Seems to me like you've got the potential to be the most dangerous one here." Seth surrounded his head in a vibration bubble. "That's why you can't be allowed to live." Kiara ran in with electric claws and tried to slash his face, but he caught the attack.
However, she still electrocuted his face, lessening the potency of his vibration bubble, forcing him to let go. Corbin fell unconscious and Natalia caught him. Andrew aimed at his head and Seth dodged. However, the air bullet did manage to graze him. As a result, he put as much effort as he could into an attack that sent them back and proceeded to get away by propelling himself out of there with small but effective vibrations.
As they all got up, they focused on Corbin. Natalia listened and was still able to hear a heartbeat. She breathed a sigh of relief. Corbin started to regain consciousness and noticed Natalia holding him. "Huh, thanks." Just then, he perked his head up. "Wait, Person! Where is he?" asked Corbin. "Don't worry, he left." said Kiara. "But we have to stop him." said Corbin. "Calm down, Ombre. He's long gone. Besides, you don't have the strength right now to help us stop him." said Andrew. Corbin stood up, but started to wobble and shake, urging Natalia to catch him. "Ok, take it easy, Ombre." said Natalia. She supported Corbin as they all left the rooftop.
In the room, Corbin was being healed by Natalia. After the process was done, Corbin felt no pain at all and moved freely. "Hey, Andrew. Did Seth lead you guys?" "No, why?" "I want to meet the team he used to be part of." A little confused, Andrew decided to indulge his request and took him to the room of Seth's old team. "Hello, everyone. This is Corbin Violette aka Ombre. He's the newest member of my team." "I see. Greetings. My name is Lucas Morrison. I'm the leader of this group known as The Colony." "Yo, name's Ciro Millas. Nice to meet ya." "Hi, I'm Justin Lockheed. I hope you're not intimidated by your team. I admit, being new can be scary." "I am Dawn Sakurada. I hope we can be good friends."
"So how long have you been an agent, Corbin?" asked Lucas. "A month. But that's not important right now. You don't have to answer if you don't want to, but what kind of person was Seth?" Everyone was shocked by this question. "Woah, Ombre. What's the deal? Why are you asking this?" asked Andrew. "I want to know exactly how an ex-Convocation agent acts while still part of the company." "It's okay. For starters, Seth led all of us except for Lucas. He was a very enthusiastic person, always encouraging us. One thing he taught us was that every attack made must have intent to either kill or neutralize, otherwise, it's worthless." said Ciro. "He always walked around with a smile on his face and there was something about it that just cheered you up, no matter what." said Justin.
"Well, I got to witness that smile. However, it did the opposite of cheer me up." said Corbin. "We just finished a battle against him. Unfortunately, he managed to get away." said Andrew. "That's fine." said Dawn. "What are you talking about? He's still on the loose not paying for what he did!" said Justin. "That's only for now. When the time is right, we'll catch him." said Dawn.
Kiara went to the Convocation Prison to meet up with Clockwork." How's prison? Are there any fun activities?" "Surprisingly, yeah. I at least get the chance to engage in arts and crafts as well as games of chess. Without those activities, I'd go mad. But I seriously doubt that's why you came to see me." "I want you to give me the Factors of your enforcer pals." "I refuse to sell out any of my teammates." said Clockwork. "Really? You won't sell out your comrades? Even if it's unlikely they'll bail you out?" "What are you talking about? Of course, they'd bail me out." "I don't really know about that. After all, I seriously doubt you guys could even be all that friendly with each other." "Talk about utter naivete. Of course, we can maintain camaraderie amongst ourselves." "Maybe some twisted sense of it. Look, in my experience, your kind murder or endanger innocent people simply because they try to take back their lives from you, so forgive me for not thinking highly of people with twisted morals."
"Truth is, I couldn't tell you their Factors even if I wanted to. I don't know them." "How do you not know them?" "I tried my hardest to not learn should I ever end up in a situation like this. Good thing I did too." "You sound very prepared. Alright, fine. Here's a question. Your boss has been operating in Rossi's territory because he killed him. Can you at least tell me why your boss put a hit on Rossi's life?" "Not on yours. I refuse to answer any of your questions. If there's a chance that any of your questions could bring us down, I refuse to answer."
"Why is that exactly?" "Because that kind of information could prove detrimental to us." "Is that actually the case or do you just believe that?" "Of course that's the case! What do you mean I just believe that?" "When we first met, you were worried that someone was tailing me. But from your perspective, I was a regular customer. What makes you think a regular customer would be tailed? Has this even happened to you before?"
"Well, no, but I have to be prepared. After all, luck favors the prepared." "I understand that, trust me. But you seem to be just borderline anxious. Are you aware of this?" Clockwork broke eye contact with her. "She's trying to get me to spill. But I won't. She could use anything I say as a means of acquiring useful information." thought Clockwork. Kiara put her knee over her leg and crossed her arms, seeing how unnerved he was. "I'm not sure you're aware, but silence is also a form of confession." said Kiara.
Clockwork looked at her, worried. "The fact that you're not willing to tell me because it could compromise your crime family means it must be very important. If you won't tell me, I'll just ask someone else." Clockwork smirked at her. "They're not gonna answer you. Why would they?" "Probably because they don't have the same level of anxiety as you." Clockwork's demeanor returned to worry quick. He gritted his teeth, unsure of what to do. "You're bluffing. You went to me because you know I'm the best one to provide information." "True, but if I ask the right kind of questions to your associates, I'm sure I'll get something." said Kiara. She broke her position and was about to leave. "Ok, ok. Fine. Honestly, this much stress is gonna grey my hair once I'm 30."
