The tale unfolds through the eyes of Mary Smith, a younger female who observes the comedic struggles of middle elderly sisters of their efforts to maintain a stage of refined dignity amid poverty. Cranford is one of the better-recognized novels of the nineteenth-century English creator Elizabeth Gaskell. It become first posted, irregularly, in 8 instalments, among December 1851 and May 1853, within the mag Household Words, which turned into edited by means of Charles Dickens.
