3. in his early childhood, Malachi was a reserved child with an average temperament. it wasn't until he turned 4 that his family life began to go south. after a couple years of the secret abuse that triggered the deterioration of his mental health, Malachi's parents started to argue more and more often. this got to the point where the two would full-on scream at each other, throw objects, slam doors, break things, etc. Malachi and his twin sister, Ffion felt incredibly isolated from their peers. even after the abuse stopped, his parents' relationship was ultimately damaged beyond repair. it also became apparent that his father was having an affair. at age 11, Malachi's father suddenly vanished: his belongings (clothing, wallet, phone, etc.) were gone and he wouldn't respond to any texts or calls. eventually, Malachi, Ffion, and their mother accepted that he had left them and began to move on with their lives. Ffion managed to break out of her shell once her and Malachi entered secondary school, and started to make new friends and excel academically. on the other hand, Malachi's mental health continued to spiral. he somewhat resented his sister for going off and making new friends, viewing it as another abandonment, just like what his father did. this lead him to hit rock bottom, and at age 12 he attempted to take his own life. after surviving his first attempt and starting medication, Malachi improved for a short period of time. but soon his mental health began to once again decline. he continued to feel rejected by his sister, and this eventually morphed into feeling rejected by their mother too. since their household went from being two-income to one-income, his mother began working extra hours in order to provide for them. at times she would become frustrated with Malachi and their current situation, leading to frequent arguments between the two. it wasn't until he met his future adopted brother, Anais, that his relationship with Ffion and their mother began to slowly improve. Malachi would go on to attempt suicide two more times at ages 14 and 17, but Ffion and their mother (and eventually Anais) continued to show him the love and support that he so desperately needed.

HAPPY: Malachi has a beautiful, toothy smile, but due to his low self-esteem and insecurities, he seldom shows it. a happy Malachi sings often, jokes around, and can be found hanging out with his family and or friends. SAD: a sad Malachi can be found self-isolating in his room, listening to sad music, not eating, and avoiding any sort of social interactions. EXCITED: restless leg syndrome; can't sit still. SCARED: a scared Malachi would freeze in his spot, begin to shake, panicked breaths, etc. IN LOVE: Malachi in love exudes calmness and serenity. his moods are lighter and he seems to float across the ground when he walks. his facial expressions also seem brighter and less stagnant.

Malachi truly values loyalty and empathy. despite having somewhat average grades in school, he excelled in music from an early age. he is the type of person who you could trust with your deepest, darkest secrets and who will always be there to listen to his friends rant and vent about their lives and problems. after his relationship with Ilya, his long-term boyfriend, ended, Malachi virtually gave up on love, secretly believing that he was unlovable and would be alone for the rest of his life (that is until he meets Eden<3.) due to hist past trauma, he has a rather cynical and slightly nihilistic view of life and the world at large. in order to cope with trauma and mental illnesses, Malachi began experimenting with drugs at the age of 13. although he has tried a wide variety of drugs (marijuana, pills, psychedelics), he mainly just sticks to smoking weed and sees himself as somewhat of a stoner.
6. Malachi deeply cares about his loved ones and would go to any length to help and support them. he greatly values his relationships since he knows how life can abruptly change for the worse.
7. Malachi's deepest, darkest fear is that everyone in his life will eventually get tired of him and ultimately abandon him like his father did.

9. 20 years old, biracial (1/2 african, 1/2 irish), 5'10", tan skin, covered head to toe in freckles, collarbone-length, curly, gingery auburn hair, greenish-blue eyes. Malachi has a casual, grungy sense in fashion along with a love for patterned shirts in muted color tones. the terms smoky and deep-tenor can best describe his voice.

2. at the age of 5, Eden's mother committed suicide via gunshot wound to the head in their family home. Eden was the first person to find her body. following her death, his father withdrew emotionally, becoming stricter and emotionally neglecting Eden for the rest of their relationship. this, combined with discovering his mother post-suicide, lead to Eden developing anorexia nervosa as a way to cope with his low self-esteem and depression.
