salem grey gets so caught up in him & hesperus lark 's secret meeting that he ends up disregarding emene boss , starting fights and him blowing them off of plans n whatnot. he has to work to rebuild their trust while either A) still keeping it a secret and lying or B) telling them whats going on and feeling more secure to balance it

hesperus lark is captured by pirates, salem grey  obv goes to save him because what else is there to do (also this is the first time Nasira bay has voluntarily spoken to him). On the ship, he finds out its his dad thats in charge. out of remorse of sorts, he has to play a game ot get him back. he loses, so he decides to fight anyways. he almost dies, but manages to get him let go (he thought). emene boss  is with him, but theyre not supposed to be. salem grey  isnt even supposed to be on the ship yet on his own; something happens where salem grey gets into serious danger for something or a mistake he makes. hesperus lark dies there and the grief makes him think irrationally. after the whole thing with his dad he goes back home, burning his own house down for payback to his father.

salem grey is still focused on sailing, but it leads to Nasira bay s manipulation getting to hesperus lark , both of them doubting the relationship for different reasons. They probably argue about it

salem grey and hesperus lark meet by salem grey 's pirate trainging, where he's supposed to capture hesperus lark . He misses, and his crew is subject to the other sirens. salem grey wasnt effected, due to @ necklace but he dont know that. As he briefly escapes, curiosity strikes him. He keeps his distance cuz he still thinks theyre dangerous liars, but continues to visit. This is what led to hesperus lark secretly meeting him in the night

before hesperus lark 's kidnapping, he wanted to run away. neither of them are safe there, they both know that. salem grey doesnt wanna leave though. Plus, what will he do about evan grey and emene boss ?? they do end up doing it though, being seperated for a few days for safetys sake. One ends up at their meeting place injured {think of the rest later}. this is also just a few days before hesperus lark dies; leading to salem grey 's return to khirgurum where he finds out crucial information from Rayen perez . this is also why silvia lark blames him, if he had just left they wouldnt have been in tht stuation.

hesperus lark thinks silvia lark  is okay with their relationship, but shes not. how would. he kno though? there were only subtle signs. She is his sister after all, why would he have questioned it? this also means though that her love is torn from him so quickly when he finds out, questioning everything theyve ever talked about or done. She does intend to apologize, but she doesnt change her views. Even so, hes torn away from her before she gets to do anything about it. this likely leads to her blaminig salem grey , saying how if they never met hesperus lark would still have been here.

silvia lark starts resenting hesperus lark after he comes out because he "got everything he ever wanted", which further led to her hatred for their relationship. its mostly jealously, but also because hes human and a guy she thinks hes gross. their last conversation is regarding some way she betrayed him. shell likely do something drastic idk but in some sense she feels very conflicted after he doesnt come back.
