Story of Creation
In this universe, religion eats up humanity.
In the beginning, Earth played with the idea of life, creating creatures to roam her, both ugly and beautiful. However, she wanted more than mindless bodies of flesh to follow her every command, so she gave each creature a mind, a passion, a purpose. It was then that Earth would create both her curse and her blessing, Humans.
She gave them everything they could want and more, but the freedom she gave made man restless. After some time, they began to harm both her and each other. It saddened earth that the humans began to poison each other with war and hatred. She decided humans were too dangerous to keep around. But how could she kill off the creation she was most proud of?
So, instead, Earth watched and observed. She saw how humans began to group together, after all, she did make them as social creatures, but one human in particular caught her eye. It was one of the first children to ever be reproduced between two humans.
She hadn't paid much attention to children, only creating adults, but as she watched the young girl play, using her imagination to make herself fly though the sky, Earth realized what she was missing.
So, instead of letting her pretend she could fly, she gave her the gift of flight. After that day Earth gave many more gifts to the girl, gifts of wisdom, of strength, of beauty and grace. But the last gift, the most important gift, was the gift to create life. She knew then she made the perfect leader.
Her job was done, and the Earth went quiet. She never would wake again.
As time went on the deity became known as The Goddess of Life and began to rule Earth, creating other deities to roam and rule the elements.
