These blessings tend to be abilities that always highlight and draw out the blessed person's "Foundation" potential. Those who are blessed by the gods and receive "Temples" are known as "Heirs" and "Heiresses" but these blessings do have limits to them." -The inner workings of those who rule the world vol.1

In a castle that's so incredible, it looks like it's straight out of a dream or even a fantasy, A beautiful young girl no older than 16 wearing royal garments was in her study looking through a magical ball commonly known as an 8eye. She's using the 8eye to see a special friend that makes her smile just by the thought of him and makes her feel like she's about to burst into laughter just by him saying her name but what she saw next made a pit in her stomach and her eyes wide. She saw her friend being attacked by an ambush team.

Guards of a research lab are fighting, researchers running in a panic while getting yelled at by the soldiers that are trying to keep them alive.

Olson: We can't keep fig- GRAHHHH MY LEG

A lighting and ice-based attack had hit the leg of the soldier cutting straight through part of her femur and barely missing her femoral artery

"OLSON!!!!!! Sarge, we're dropping like flies!! Has ANYONE SEEN THE FUCKING BLACKSMITH?!?!?!?!?!"

The young man they were looking for had gone to save an injured soldier, he had no reason to do so nor did, he just wanted to do something good. he had taken her back to safety. "Ok, this is a bad idea don't you think, sunshine?" he said in a rushed tone after throwing a random object that he had grabbed from his lab which happened to be a tomahawk at an enemy who tried to charge at him "Holy shit I thought that I was going to miss." The soldier on the ground was groaning in pain when the researcher got to her.

Olson: Wh-what are you doing here? Get out fatass!

"Ya'know, hehe, I get that I'm a bit chunky and that you guys always say it as a joke but I'm not that fat." He said as he threw her over his shoulder. "I'm 15, my birthday's in 3 months and I'm 5'6" 260lb I'm not that fat" he jokingly said trying to make her laugh to forget about the pain in her leg but he then quickly got serious. "Sunshine, I'm going to need you to hold onto me as tight as you can and not move as much as possible ok?" She nodded her head as he got ready to sprint towards his workshop back inside the research building and left her there after whispering something in her ear and giving her a make-shift turner-kit and splint he then turned around and started throwing up as the realization that he just killed another living person started to settle in.

Jay: Holy fuck!!! (He said exasperatedly right before throwing up again.) Oh, God!

Jay then wiped his mouth with the sleeve of his once crisp white now tattered and burned lab coat. He then stood straight grabbed a piece of metal and ate it like it was soft food and when he finished he ate anything hard he could find, either more metal, bones, and scales of the creatures they were researching and even some of the rare rocks they were using. His skin started to slowly change colors and texture to the things that he ate until he almost looked like a rainbow and then his skin went back to his natural tan olive. This was one of the "foundations" he has and he ran back out to fight.

Shouting as loud as they could over the sounds of the spells a battle-hardened Sargent is trying to issue commands to her subordinates and evacuate the facility. "I'M TRYING TO CALL IN REINFORCEMENTS LEE GET ALL THE DOCTORS TO SAFETY AND GRAB AS MUCH OF THE KIDS RESEARCH AND WORK, BURN THE REST!!!!! WHERE IS THE GOD DAMN KID?!?!?!?!?!?!

Sargent Selgato: Thank gods you're ok, but where's the fatass?

Olson grunted as she started to be picked up by fellow soldiers.

"He made a make-shift turner kit out of part of his lab coat and a piece of metal and then grabbed one of the reinforced doors he was working on and went back out there telling me "I'm probably not going to make it back home but I'm not really my mom would be ok with that so if you don't find a dead body then I'm not dead also I'm the only person here who's strong enough to put up a fight. Well, whatever I'm scared shitless but I'm not going to let anyone die here so just don't ok sunshine?". That was the last thing he said and then I saw was him using the door as a shield, and bashed it into the enemy."

Directly after hearing this the captain turned around her eyes lighting up an eery pink color, ready to get out there and drag the boy back but was stopped by her Sargent.

"WE CAN'T GET THERE IN TIME MA'AM HE'S A LOST CAUSE, THERE'S NO ONE HERE WHO CAN STAND UP TO THE ENEMY BUT HIM.  THEY'RE ALL GREEN TEMPLES AND THE BADGES THAT YOU CAN SEE ON THEIR UNIFORMS ARE THAT OF K.O.P. THAT MEANS THEY'RE JUST THE SCOUTING PARTY AND THERE'S A WHOLE FUCKING PLATOON RIGHT BEHIND THEM!!! IT'S NO USE CAPTAIN, WE NEED TO RETREAT OR ELSE ALL OF US ARE GOING TO DIE, I ALREADY SET THE BUILDING ON FIRE AND PLANTED EXPLOSIVES FOR ONE MINUTE!!!!"

With the sounds of carnage that the blacksmith was making coming from only 400ft away, The captain could only say one clench her fist and hope to the gods that he could survive thing almost grunting in frustration and self-disappointment through her gritting teeth "goddamnit!".

The girl that had been watching the events play out shrieked "NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" she grabbed the orb and started running across the castle as all the guards could only watch as she ran. 5 minutes later she entered the chamber of the king, a man who had long red hair with some gray stripes going here and there showing his age and he wore the Skin of a legendary beast that took him days to defeat as a ceremonial garb, startling him and worrying him as his daughter was sobbing uncontrollably. He grabbed her by her shoulders and tried to calm her down to understand what she was rambling on about.

Diana!!! W-What's wrong?! the king exclaimed 

The Princess barely understandable through her sobs uncontrollable "Th-th-they l-l-left him" she then shoved the orb into her father's face to show him what was happening.

The king stared intently for what seemed hours but was only 15 minutes, as he saw this child that he only vaguely remembered but couldn't quite put his finger from where he knew him or why he was so important to his daughter, but what he did know was that this "boy" for a lack of a better term was fighting against highly trained soldiers and holding his own even cutting a swath across, with nothing but bloodlust in his eyes and covered in blood. the boy was swinging his arms and legs like a wild beast that only wanted to survive. He was fighting so desperately that the king could even see the boy biting into the neck of a man he was fighting and ripped his throat, but it didn't matter as they were better equipped, stronger, and more of them he could handle. 

The King looked up and only said three words "who is he?" the princess stared at her father with tears still running down her face but she was a little composed now that she had time to breathe and at the exact moment 6 other people frantically entered the king's chamber.

Princess Diana: "It's Jay" she whispered with her last tear rolling down her face and her voice almost back to normal but with a slight tremble.

The other 6 that had barged into the king's chamber all knelt before the king

The first to speak was a woman who was barely in her early 20's wearing an eyepatch over her right eye her long black hair hitting the floor.

"My king, we have urgent news that we believe is a matter of national security."

The king had the orb in his hands still watching the boy fighting with more ferocity than he had before with now visible parts of his body impaled with daggers, magical arrows, even tree branches from the surrounding flora, and parts of his body were chared by spells. The research facility behind the boy was completely engulfed in flames now.

The king: "Speak now" without looking up from the orb he said.

The next person to speak was one of the king's generals. A man whose body was now giving way to his age and covered in scars, he had served with the king during "the war of Apotheosis" as his commanding officer and ended up becoming the king's best friend, "Uriel" the general said in an almost somber tone "We lost the research facility in the Pendulum".

The king looked up quickly to his old friend with a look of disbelief before regaining his composure "Eragore, tell that we at least saved the people there and know who's responsible?"

General Eragore: "Eve, please give his majesty the report we received from the survivors?"

Eve was the woman who first spoke when the others had entered the room, as she rose so did the others that were still kneeling.

Eve: "We saved most of the research, all but one researcher, and only had 3 other casualties who were killed when the ambush first started and had 17 injured in total 15 miner and 2 major injuries in all. The ones who had minor injuries have already been checked and treated and the other two with major injuries are said to be stable and in surgery at this moment.

King Uriel: "Who was the researcher that was left behind?" the king spoke and everyone in the room felt the air around them change and an eminence pressure emanating from the king and without even flinching Eve spoke.

Eve: "That information wasn't disclosed to me, your highness. I was only given the report that contained the well-being and status of the survivors, casualties, and injuries but a report containing all the information of the events that had transpired there will be coming in shortly."

Just as she said that a loud ping was heard. Eve proceeded to use her bracelet that was a magical projection device only meant for high-level military use. She projected the file she had received so that everyone could see it.

Eve: "Here it is my king, the names of the 3 casualties were Petty officer Shamus O'donald age 24, Sargent Heron Grande age 28, and One of our royal guards Tanner Inhyuk age 32. The 2 others that are in surgery right now are Dusik Kim age 37 had a brain bleed and, the daughter of General Eragore, Astrid Olson age 20, her birthday was yesterday, she got hit in her leg by a lighting and ice-based attack and was saved by one of the researchers who according to her statement used his body to take on the rest of the attacks and carried her to safety and used a first aid kit to help her leg and gave her a make-shift turner kit and splint, which is the only reason her leg was able to survive and wasn't amputated he also apparently gave her a dagger that shot highly concentrated blasts of air that could cut through armor and people with ease, a helmet that made her imperceptible to people that wanted to harm her and had a minor healing factor, and lastly, a small case with 4 rings that he made her promise to personally give 3 to his mother and one to Princess Diana. Lastly, the researcher who was not able to be retrieved and at the sight was a "Jay Theadore De las Rosas" age 16.

The moment she said the researcher's name, a sense of realization hit the king as he now remembered who the boy was. He was his daughter's best friend and a prodigy when it came to smithing. The king then looked back down at the orb he had been holding the entire time but before he could his daughter had already gotten up from her knees and taken the ball and saw a gruesome scene that made her start to cry uncontrollably and violently vomit and fall back down to her knees.

The king walked over to his daughter and tried to console her but when he saw what she had seen on the orb, he quickly turned his head.

King Uriel: "Eragore I need you to display the images of this orb to the rest and tell me what you see."

General Eragore: "As you wish my King"

The general did exactly as the king had said and once he did the king covered his daughter's eyes, three of the people that had entered the king's chamber started throwing up, and even Eve who had shown no emotion or even the slightest reaction to anything this entire time gagged and started dry-heaving violently. The general felt his stomach turn at the sight before him.

General Eragore: "I see a young man bathed in blood with multiple foreign objects impaled all over and through his body standing on a mountain of bodies. There's at least a battalions worth of bodies around the mountain I just mentioned. His right eye is swollen to the point where he can't see out of it and his left eye is bloodshot, around 25% of his skin and muscles are cut to hell and I can see parts of his bone showing. He's currently being overwhelmed by at least 150~180 enemy combatants but he's only focused on fighting 3 of them... He's being decimated Uriel, I-I don't think he's going to make it with the way they're beating on him."

There were a few moments of silence where the only things you could hear were the sounds of the boy being just absolutely destroyed and the wet sound of his blood-soaked body trying not to break and the last thing they heard was the boy shout a loud boom then nothing. There was no sound no visuals it had just cut off. Then an alarm started sounding off that meant gods were coming to see the king.

The king hadn't taken his royal garbs off yet so he picked up his daughter took her to his son, Galvin, room and told him the situation and everything that had happened, he told him to call his other two older daughters (Valentina and Matilda) to come and console the princes, he then went to the Throne room sat on the throne and waited for only a few short moments before 17 gods of mostly varying pantheons appeared in a flash of light in the throne room.

The first god to speak was Shango one of many thunder gods in this world.

Shango: "Uriel "Ground Zero" Von Wolfking, King of the 4th country on the continent of Apotheosis "Imago". We gods have come to see you and give you the courtesy of seeking an audience with you."

King Uriel: "You are already before me so there's no point in saying no. Please tell me what brings you to my castle this late at night?"

Odin spoke up instead of Shango

Odin: "We came because we believe you had a research facility in the pendulum. We urge you no matter what to not go back there-"

King Uriel: "Absolutely not. You have no right to demand anything of me or my people furthermore three dead bodies of good men were left. They were sons, brothers, lovers, and even fathers not to mention that there is a BOY THAT WAS LEFT BEHIND BECAUSE HE WAS FIGHTING AN ENTIRE SMALL FUCKING ARMY. SO UNLESS YOU GET ME THE BODIES OF THOSE 3 MEN AND THE STATUS OF THAT BOY, FUCK OFF!!!!"

Odin was angered by what little regard the king had for him and his status as a god. One thing to understand is that on the floating continent of "Apotheosis" the god are not seen nor praised the same as they are around the rest of the world instead, they are seen as powerful beings to strive to become and surpass. In two of the four countries, it's a job to become strong enough to kill a god. Although many people still do practice the worship of these gods the king does not.

The air in the tone room started to change drastically all 17 gods started to release the pressure of their power and the king did the same as well their animosity toward each other was clear to see.

Odin: "Tell me "boy" do you think you can stand up to us"

King Uriel: "I am the "hair" of both Ra and Khepri I am confident in my strength. I just as well have an army at my beck and call."

Before either side could even act the entire castle felt a pressure that sent an ice-cold chill down everyone's back and a primordial fear in their chest. Two men were walking through the castle both no older than 20-22 and seething with rage and 3 seconds later they stepped into the king's throne room walking past the gods as if they were just there for decor even though they were all on the fence.

The shorter of the two was the first to speak was also the reason that everyone was so terrified. But instead of shouting and acting like a madman, he knelt before the king trying to be as civil he could be despite the uncontrollable rage that was clear for everyone to feel.

King Uriel: "I-I-I'm sorry Daniel."

Those 3 barely audible meek and trembling words were the only words that the king could mutter as both a combination of fear and guilt swelled up in his throat. Those words also confused and angered Odin as it was obvious to everyone that the king was showing them much more respect than any of the gods had received until now. Odin decided to step forward to show his power but before he could Shango and Ares both stopped them. As the All-father looked at the two gods sweating profusely and starring at the taller man whose long hair covered part of his face was starring back at them with an angry smile.

Daniel: "Please tell me what happened to my little brother."

King Uriel: "I can't do that "God Butcher", but I can show you what we saw."

Everyone in the room, except for the taller man he had come with, held their breath at the sudden realization and revelation of who this short man who could just stand at the height of 6' a decidedly whole foot shorter than everyone in the room. The king then proceeded to show him the 3 hour-long footage that his daughter managed to record while trying to reach the boy. As they watched the rage had become even greater and a new emotion could be felt from the two men, sadness. Out of the 17 gods that had come 14 of them had to either turn away or cover their ears from the gruesome scene.

With tears running down his face the taller and long-haired man stepped forward before falling to his knees as the man named Daniel stood with rivers of tears were rolling down his still unchanged stone face. He went to the taller man.

Daniel: Stand up Nemo.

Nemo: Where was he? where did this happen?

King Uriel: "I can't tell you that Nemesis."

The air became sharp almost as if it became violent itself the shadow beneath Nemo shrank and in an instant, it exploded outward drowning the room in complete darkness even Surya could not shine his light even though it had only covered a quarter of the massive room. The king, gods, and the kingsmen realized that there were faces and eyes in the shadows.

Nemo: WHERE IS HE!!!!!!

He shouted... no... not shouted... he screamed out those words but the shorter man looked down at him then he spoke. The tears had started to no longer stream down his face as they were before.

Daniel: Hay I want to find him too but we can't d-.

He choked on his words trying to hold back the sea of tears hiding behind his eyes. The taller man started laughing. Before you start thinking that he's a psychopath he is but that's not the reason that he was laughing, he laughed because he didn't want to continue crying and didn't know what else to do. Daniel hugged his cousin whispered something in his ear then the darkness retreated under him.

One of the "braver gods" stepped forward towards the pair.

Virtus: Although I can not begin to understand the emotions you two must be feeling we must once again implore you to not go to the Pendulum.

Daniel stood up and helped his cousin stand as well but there was something different about them when they both stood. Despite being in front of everyone somehow their faces were obscured and you couldn't hear the sobbing or sounds of teardrops hitting the floor. Their muscles that were once visible through their clothes were now relaxed. The silence was broken by Nemo with no emotion behind the words he spoke.

Nemo: If we don't interfere do you promise to bring him back home dead or alive?

Virtus:... I can't d-

before he could finish speaking Nemo had firmly planted Virtus' entire head on the floor. All the other gods were shocked by the speed and display of power putting them all on guard. When Nemo looked up he covered his ears and so did Daniel, a second later a loud explosion from the air itself came forth pushing everyone and even throwing some of the royal guards around.

Nemo: I'm not going to kill anyone I just want to know why you can't go get him or wh... (He put fist in front of his face trying to hold back his tears before taking a deep breath clearing his throat and regaining his composure) Or what's left of him.

Odin by this point was pissed beyond belief as they disregarded his godly might, status, and position as the head of the Norse pantheon after he was the all-father. He tried to hold his tongue and tried to, he truly did try to sympathize with these two men as they had all seen the younger sibling of these two men sacrifice himself to save dozens of researchers and soldiers of the kingdom of "Imago" against a military whose government is well known for radicalizing its soldiers to only pursue power and violence. Sadly he could no longer hold back and he said something that he would truly come to regret.

Odin: What gives you authority over I Odin THE king of Asgard. I will not be told what to do by some mere mortals who barely hold a smidgen of power. I understand that you must be angry and want answers for that child whose bravery would even impress Tyr and the heroes in the halls of Valhalla would praise but I WILL NOT ACCEPT FOR YOU TO TREAT AS THOGH I'M SOME SECOND THOUGHT SO FORGET ABOUT THAT BOY NOW AND OBAY MY DEMANDS OR WILL SEE WHAT HAPPENS.

The room fell silent for several minutes after Odin's outburst as everyone was stricken with this kind of sense of wrong. An unexplainable presence in the back of the minds of the king, his men, and most of the gods all started shaking. At first, it was unnoticeable but soon it started to the point where you could hear the catering teeth of those who were most affected, and soon most of the affected realized what it was... Fear.

Daniel: What most of you are feeling right now is a secondary effect of my "foundation" It's called "True Domination" it's that feeling you have in the back of your head that feeling that's making you shake with fear, it's your body activating its fight or flight. But the main effect of my foundation is that it gives me the strength to completely and utterly dominate, both mentally and physically those who have made themselves my enemies or I want to fight and the best part about it is the longer I use to the stronger the effects are.

Many of the Royal Guards who stood guard in the throne room began passing out and falling to their knees. 

King Uriel: Enough!!!! This country may be a Matriarchy but when my wife is not here, This becomes my country and my Throne room and while I have immense respect for both the gods and these two men you both have got me FFFUCKED UP IF YOU THINK I'M JUST GOING TO STANDBY AND LET YOU HAVE A DICK MEASURING CONTEST IN MY CASTLE. I sympathize with the "God Butcher" and "Nemesis" over your loss I promise I will do everything in my power to help you, but I need you to calm down and take a breath before you inadvertently kill my men.

He then turned toward the gods with a look of disdain and sneered with a cold face and piercing words

King Uriel: Now, you "so-called" gods. Get the fuck out of my country. The only reason I even entertained you was out of respect for you and your power. Don't get me wrong the two brothers were the most violent and aggressive ones and I'll have words for them later, but Odin you've been nothing but arrogant and impatient, so you will leave before this becomes "physical". I'll give you 5 minutes to gather your bearings and leave. I suggest you leave as 9 of your gods are already on the floor either shaking or passed out without even being touched.

The gods left without making a scene but were enraged for being completely humiliated like that.

King Uriel: Thank you both for stepping down and not escalating the situation any further and as I said before I will do everything in my power to help you find your brother-

Daniel: You promised

Daniel said while clenching his jaw. A tear ran down his cheek and another one was just about ready to follow suit.

Daniel: You and your daughter promised me he would be safe. And what did you do? YOU SENT HIM TO THE GODS DAMN "PENDULUM"!!!!

King Uriel was silent and held his head down as he couldn't look into the eyes of a man who had lost something so important in such a terrible way.

Daniel: You said he had enough potential to change the world! You said he was... you said he'd be safe. He didn't even want to go, all he ever wanted to be was a doctor to help kids.

Daniel started slowly breakdown but he then cleared his voice whipped his face and looked straight at the king.

King Uriel: I'm so sorry. If I had known any of this would happen I never-

Nemo: No one would have even entertained the idea if anybody knew what was going to happen. Now please tell us where the queen is.

King Uriel: She's in "Thraggoth" and will return in the next 12 hours.

(Thraggoth is a very famous city which is best known for its action houses that house and sell some of the most exotic pieces in the country.)

Then the light and beautiful voice of the queen was heard. The king stood quickly and shouted his wife's name.

King Uriel: Airel how was the Thraggoth.

Queen Airel: It was interesting to say the best but I did get quite a few things and my favorite was this cool little rapier. It cuts through things like hot butter and it's super light and even more durable than a mountain.

She said this with a massive child-like smile on her face.

King Uriel: That's incredible dear but do you know who the smith who made it is so we can buy more of their items.

Queen Airel: We can figure that out later but what I wanted to know was why there's a hole in the floor of my throne room and who are these two young men?

The king proceeded to explain the entire situation to the queen.

Queen Airel: You just told me what surmounts to a national catastrophe with a straight face and that the researcher that "disappeared" just so happens to be our daughter's best friend and from the actions you just told me he took is now a national hero?

King Uriel: In short, yes and those two young men right there that have been incredibly patient are his older siblings.

Queen Ariel: IS THAT "THE GOD BUTCHER" AND "NEMESIS"??!?!?!?! By the gods! And where is she? Where's our daughter?

King Uriel: She's in Galvin's room with her sisters.

 Queen Airel: Finding this boy is this countries top priority and put out a reward for anybody that can find any clues about where he is and if any guilds and independent hunters or adventurers find them or give us a clue they will not only receive the reward but will also be able to choose any 3 things from the royal armory and will be sponsored by the crown.

Daniel and Nemo walked towards the king and queen with solemn faces.

Nemo: We will take our leave now your majesties but please keep us informed about the course of action you will be taking and any progress you make.

They left as husks of the men they were when they had first arrived.

The king and queen went to go see how their daughter was but by the time they got there she had already cried herself into a deep sleep. They grabbed the other children deciding to explain the situation further in-depth with them the king showed the rest of his family the 3-hour long footage that he and the princess had seen making all but, the queen, violently vomit.

Princess Valentina: By the gods' father why would you make us watch this?

King Uriel: Because this is who your sister and I had to watch at the exact moment that it was happening. That "boy" is your sister's best friend and the younger sibling to "The God Butcher" and "Nemesis" not to mention he's also the only reason why there were such few casualties. He's a goddamn hero and we need to find him.

The next few weeks went by like a blur for everyone involved in the search for the researcher. The king himself personally went to the other kingdoms to seek help but in the north, the country of "Inpoler" a revolution was on the horizon, and the queen of "Imago" had openly declared that they would not stand with the government that was currently set up there, to the west the almost warlike empire of "Argunos" was the country who's men attacked the research facility and didn't take too kindly to the true accusations that they swore up and down that were lies hence they denied the proposal to help, but in the east... in the east, the beautiful technologically advanced but secluded "The Republic of Elizumos" was a very neutral and self-serving country but due to years of healthy politics and "favors" they received from the Country of "Imago" they said yes to helping look for the researcher but despite their best efforts... despite their efforts being able to recreate everything down to the heartbeat of every single person had been there and being able to read the emotions of these recreated people they could only find the bodies of the dead and no sign of the researcher past what was seen in the recording. The only people that were allowed to go to the location were The Royal Family, "The God Butcher", "Nemesis", Those guilds and Independent hunters that took up the job the request from the crown, and those who were sent from "The Republic Of Elizumos" to help.

Chapter 1
