In the beginning there was an idea to create a collection of landmass districts each with different properties and traits with basic human needs being removed. This experiment was created by Z-Labs with the Project Director being Dr. Abelia Zrodac, who the mass was named after. This was essentially a social experiment where the inhabitants were under the impression that there were generations before them, as a new technology was also tested on the island. The 10Drive.
The 10Drive was a very dangerous piece of technology that could temporarily peer into the 10th Dimension as a plane of existence and use it as a place to make changes to the 3rd dimension. How Z-Labs used this, was to age Zrodac and make it have geological history.
Many people were selected to be placed on Zrodac to participate in the experiment with their consent to lose their memory and be granted the other effects that were part of the experiment.
Z-Labs needed to make a system for keeping their citizens in check and making sure that nobody has passed in or left illegally. The Recognizable Citizen Board. This Board is an archive of the physical files of each citizen that is currently in the experiment. If a citizen dies of age or some exterior fatal act, the Board Manager will no longer recognize them as a citizen of Zrodac. This Frees the storage for the 4th dimension and reduces the amount of maintenance each citizen needs. But Z-Labs faced another challenge when designing Zrodac, Happiness.
Luckily Z-Labs specialized in creating satisfactory products and listening to customer review back on their home planet, so this wasn't a lasting problem. The solution they came up with was making every citizen have a personal plot of space in the 4th dimension where they could store personal items from home and any other item they could ever want in the entire world. Z-Labs discovered that they could use the 4th dimension as a wormhole to quickly transport items from their home planet to another space. So they made the 4-TechX. This was an interface that was built into each pill that allowed citizens to easily access the 4th dimension and summon any item they want.

The Experiment goes surprising well in its early stages, this was rare for Z-Labs, as they aren't used to creating a product that doesn't exhibit issues in its testing stages. The Citizens are very happy, they connect well in their respective districts and occasionally attend academy if they want to be educated on the magic potential they hold. They Almost never get bored and when they do they just find something to do. The Early Stage goes on for about 6 months and then the colonies and civilizations begin to advance and technology becomes more prominent in their daily lives as they explore the potential that they have. Films and Writing becomes popular. Arts are becoming a regular act and also occupy the Citizens. People design architecture and entertain people just for the thrill rather than greed. This is especially simple because some of the effects of the Experimental Pill are infinite stamina, endurance, and work ethic.
Because the Experiment enacted such great results, Z-Labs presented it to the World Leaders of their home planet in a rather strange meeting. The Interview was between Jack Renson, who was the President of the United Masses at the time, and Abelia Zrodac. However, during the interview Abelia noticed that Jack was acting stranger than usual. While earlier he was the one who approved of this Experiment being run under his over watch, he seemed to flinch at the idea of citizens of their home planet being affected by the Pill, despite its extraordinary results. There was no reasoning with him though, he simply would not let "his citizens" be affected by the pill. Abelia was confused and essentially hopeless. The entire Experiment was basically for nothing, because despite the success, it would have no effect on society due to Jacks refusal. But Abelia knew something was wrong. she "could feel it in the room" she told her colleagues. But luckily, none of them were giving up on her. They felt something was wrong too, something greater than what they could control.

This support lasted until one of Abelia's Colleagues, David Ki; began to have similar behaviors as Jack Renson. David seemed to suddenly hate the project after almost a year of working on it claiming he "never liked it in the first place." It was then when Abelia realized, this was an infection, a virus, that David caught on their trip back to their home planet. He did come along the way, after all.
They kept David in a Medical Harbor for almost a month of testing when the Doctors discovered a Virus that could not be comprehended by their technology. Where the virus would be in his brain there just, wasn't. His brain just didn't show up in the scans, but they knew it was there. They described it as similar to the feeling of someone's presence in a room, they could tell the brain was still there but it just didn't show up. This kind of unexplainable, incomprehensible feeling was only describable by something that pained Abelia to announce.
Exposure to Alternate Dimensions.
More specifically, A being that existed in the 10th Dimension while the 10Drive was active, escaped via the 10Drive. This being was telling Jack and David not to approve of the experiment, most likely due to the energy disturbance produced by Zrodac. It was only a matter of time before the infection spread to the entire crew, so they discontinued the progression of Zrodac and all went missing since the outbreak. David eventually ended up dying of said infection, as his body was physically incapable of keeping up with a 6 dimension difference.
And Zrodac was left for dead...
…until it wasn't.

Erin Zrodac was Abelia Zrodac's son, a co-founder of the Zrodac Experiment, was the only member that was not missing after the events of Davids Cosmic Infection. This is because Erin is also an experiment of Abelia's. He was the secret weapon in case of alternate dimensional terror. he was created by the 10Drive, as a 10 dimensional being molded specifically to exist in the 3rd dimension. He's completely immune to any effects that a normal human would take if exposed to another dimension. He was supposed to save them from David's infection but was gone at the time, so he returned to an empty laboratory with nothing but David's rotting corpse. He knew exactly what had happened here, he could see it all over David's face. So he immediately went down to Zrodac after learning that it was abandoned, he thought they would need a manager in case of some sort of danger now that the 3rd Dimension was completely exposed to 10 dimensional beings.
