Medea Norrington:
- Medea was named after Princess Medea from Greek Mythology, known for her magical abilities and story with the hero Jason.
- Medea's gold demonic eyes are also a reference to both Circe and Medea. They got those eyes by virtue of being the daughter and granddaughter, respectively, of the Greek god of the Sun, Helios.
- Also, Medea's hair at birth was blond until Laurel magically changed its roots to be black instead. The mythological Medea, contrary to popular belief, was actually blonde.
- An ''artificial human'' created by a mad scientist and archmage, who has long, black hair and sometimes yellow eyes, is in conflict with their creator and sometimes is in conflict about their own nature. Are we talking about Medea or Frankenstein's Creature?.
- Medea offering her left eye (or at least, the eyesight of said eye) to gain control of her Umbrakinesis is a reference to Odin, who offered his eye to Mimir's dwell in order to gain knowledge.
- Her main outfit is modelled after traditional Japanese sailor fuku uniforms.
- The flute/dagger she initially used to summon Amun was a reference to Zen-Aku.
- Also, the katana that Ma'at du Cronos gives her as a prize for besting him, was also renamed Zen-Aku by her, literally meaning ''good-evil''.
- Medea being asleep bound to a tree when The V7D finds her at the beginning of the story is a direct reference to InuYasha, however, in context, is more of a reference to, again, Odin, who hung himself to the world tree to understand the runes, while Medea did it to heal from her injuries caused by Warren Norrington.
- Medea has a few callbacks and references to Jesus, as she herself is the In-Universe Jesus of Norrington's Desire.
- Medea ''died'' and was ''resurrected'' as Asura when she was 33 years old.
- She has the gift of bestowing life granted by becoming the Nero Angelo during the Atlantic War, Jesus brought more than one person back from the dead.
- Urizen, Medea's vessel for her memories in the form of a butterfly, is named after the deity in the mythology of William Blake.

- Anthony's real name Anima, was taken from the traditional Catholic prayer Anima Christi.
- Anthony's trademark pants (either gold or red) are taken from Seth Rollins' former wrestling gear. Anthony's male shape also used to be a carbon copy of Seth Rollins but after losing the beard, getting longer hair and gaining tanner skin, this no longer applies.
- Anthony's a trickster god with a complex moral compass (that tends to lie on the antagonistic side) and is the father of an abnormally huge wolf. Sound familiar?
- Anthony's middle name Nero is a reference to Emperor Nero.
- Anthony's preference for golden colours is a reference to the classic ''hoarding dragon'' trope, in which a dragon is guarding a treasure made up of mostly gold stuff.
- Anthony's chamber/main temple is commonly referred to by Medea as ''The Lair of the Crimson Emperor'', which is a name referencing ''The Court of the Crimson King'' song.
- Anthony frequently wears a shirt with the legend Ave Satannie. This is a play on the name of the theme Ave Satani with her nickname Annie.
- Anthony can play the violin. It’s a nod to the infamous story behind The Devil's Trill. The composer of that piece once claimed he dreamt the Devil appeared to him, offering a deal in exchange for the hauntingly beautiful melody..
- Omega Seraphim's head and horns are modelled after MetalGreymon.
- Seraphim, the name of Medea's angelic form, was taken after the highest-ranking angel in the Angelic hierarchy.

- Nicoletta's family name, Argento, is a reference to italian filmmaker Darío Argento.
- The Argentos (or at least the ones we know so far) all share the nickname ''Nico'' (Grandmother Nicola, father Nicolo, son Nicolás, and daughter Nicoletta), this was inspired by Robert Rodríguez and his children (Rebel, Rhiannon, Rocket, Racer and Rogue), who all share ''R'' names. The only exceptions are Nicoletta's biological mother Claudia and her dead son Gerard (though to be fair, she didn't name Gerard; Yuuki did).
- Nicoletta's gun Whisper functions almost identically to the Stand Emperor.
- Anthony's sons Ma'at/Matt and Neith/Nick are also named after Egyptian deities. Their human names are the same names of the Young Bucks.
- Aurora, mother of Anima, Myurne and Kawren. The name ''Aurora'' means ''Dawn'', the name was taken as a reference to Isaiah 14:12, which refers to Lucifer as the son of the Dawn, referencing the fact that Aurora is the mother of Anthony du Cronos, the in-universe Devil.
- Laurel Nasuka was named after the laurel tree. Bay laurel was used to fashion the laurel wreath of ancient Greece, a symbol of the highest status.
- Her last name, Nasuka, is a non-literal translation of Laurel's original last name, Nightshade, which was changed due to changing Laurel's japanese inspired aesthetic.
- Medea and Nicoletta's stillborn child would've been named Gerard Way Norrington. Unsurprisingly, Yuuki named him.
- Miyuuki's father, the vampire Valentino Michelangelo Strafford, is loosely named after the main character of Stranger in a Strange Land.
- Quincey Harrigan is named after Quincey P. Morris and Mike Harrigan. Odd name for a Sicilian-Yoruba young man, isn't it? Well. Quincey Harrigan is a nickname; his real name is Adewale.
- Mia Wilde was named after porn actress Mia Malkova and Irish writer Oscar Wilde.
- Emma Norrington, Jr. is and is not a reference. Originally, this name belonged to a friend's character who was a pirate, however I really liked the name so I asked this friend for permission to use it for a completely unrelated character, the ''Junior'' is basically a reference that my former friend's character is the original Emma Norrington. In-Universe, well, this is because she was named after her mother.
- Juni was named after Juni Cortez from Spy Kids. Although in this case, his name actually is Juni while my Juni's name is short for 'Juniper'.
- Juni's monicker, Domina Sanguinis (Italian for Blood Lady), is inspired by Mary I of England, better known as Bloody Mary.
- The first part of the story is named Under Pressure, after the Queen song of the same name.
- On that note, the second part of the story is named Under Siege, which was taken from one of Shane McMahon's promos.
- And last but not least, the last part of the story is named Under World... hopefully this one is self explanatory.
