4 thin slices of the cheese of your choice
4 ready-made, vacuum-packed mochi
4 strips of nori (dried seaweed)
A small amount of soy sauce for dipping
Cut the cheese slices smaller than the mochi.
With a sharp knife, make a horizontal slit at the side of each mochi and insert a slice of cheese.
Broil the mochi sandwich under a medium heat for 3-4 minutes on each side or until it turns golden brown.
Cut a nori strip 1 inch wide and long enough to go around the mochi.
Wrap the nori strips around the mochi and serve while hot with a little soy sauce for dipping.
