(Oh, hi Amber! ^^)
(Tell me about it. I’ll try to get back on today but I can’t make any promises)
(hello)
(Ok. See you when we see you then :)
So, Amber, can you think of anything we could be doing while she's gone? I guess we could do a bit more of Luke and Nathan sneaking around….? If you want)
(let's say it's a big building. they go in and search around, that works for me)
(That works, it's a huge building. They could wander around for hours, especially since the rooms change randomly according to Blake's mood. cackles wickedly )
They got the door open and entered the house. The first room they found themselves in seemed to be a pantry, lined with shelves full of mysterious, nasty-looking jars and boxes. All was dark and quiet.
"I don't feel like investigating this particular room too much," Nathan mumbled. He moved to the door set into the far wall.
This door led to a kitchen, again filled with decidedly inedible things. There was an odd smell in the air, like chemicals and gasoline. Luke stifled a cough. "Looks like we found the place where they prepare food for those shadow spirit people," he whispered. "I'll bet you could get cancer just by breathing in here for too long."
Nathan laughed softly. "Wouldn't put it past the smell anyway." He veered in between piles of dishes and stand-alone counters, searching for a clean-ish uniform.
They found a small cleaning closet with scrubs, gloves, and aprons in it, all about their size. Luke shrugged off his jacket and replaced it with a loose-fitting black shirt. "There we go. I guess maybe we should skip the aprons, unless we plan on staying in the kitchen area." He tossed you an identical uniform and stowed his jacket in the very back of the closet. "Lucky it's not lunch time yet."
Nathan pulled on the uniform and they headed out into the basement hallway. It was dank and quiet, but they padded through it carefully, gripping weapons.
They went down several hallways without incident, then found a staircase leading up and stealthily entered the next level. To their surprise, this level also had no windows, so they assumed that it must be underground as well. But it was nicer here, with wooden floors and better lighting.
The hallway they were on abruptly ended at a paneled wooden door. Luke listened for voices for a minute, then nodded at you. "I think it's clear."
Nathan nodded back. "Ok, great." He tried the door. It was locked. He sighed and scanned the floor for something to pick the lock.
While Nathan was doing that, the door suddenly opened. A young man in a servant's uniform, obviously not a shadow spirit, stood staring at the two boys in surprise.
Nathan turned around slowly and stared back at the servant. He nudged Luke, who was better with talking.
Luke's face went blank. "Uh…hey. Sup." He tried for a charming grin, and didn't fail too badly, despite his disheveled appearance. "Are you the guy in charge of new staff?"
The young man blinked. "Ah, no, sorry. I'm not very high ranking. And you two are…new staff?"
"Yeah. We were told to come up here and…clean. The floors. All of them."
The servant paused, frowning. "But you're wearing kitchen uniforms."
Luke hesitated, weighing his options, then looked at you and shrugged. "Screw this. Let's just tie him up and ask him where the others are."
"I was waiting for that answer." Nathan pinned the servant to wall while Luke tied him up.
The young man finally started to seem alarmed. "Who are you? You don't belong here, do you?"
Nathan clapped slowly. "Congrats on figuring that out." He pushes the boy to the floor.
He yelped. "What do you want?" he asked, wincing.
Luke folded his arms. "I don't think we have to waste time trying to intimidate this idiot. Look at him. Hey, buddy, what's your name?"
"Vin," the young man replied. "I'm an energy donor for Mr. Blake."
"Oh, well that explains why you annoy me so much. We're looking for two other newcomers, a demon and a girl named Maddie. Seen them?"
Vin looked startled. "Oh yes, I've spoken with them. I think they've decided to stay, which is good. Maddie, at least, seems nice."
"Great. Where are they?"
"I'm not sure. Almost everyone went to the dining hall on the ground floor an hour ago, and I think they're still there. Maybe your friends are there too." Vin shifted uncomfortably. "Could you please untie me now?"
"You'll run and spread the alarm. So no."
(ive gotta go)
(Okay, see ya later ^^)
