Elise was woken from almost sleeping by the warm smell of soup. She sat up and took the bowl, hands trembling terribly. But she must have been hungry because she drained the entire bowl and the milk in less than a minute, after which her eyes fluttered shut and she sank back into the covers.
Havenwood refilled the bowl and set it into the fridge for her in the morning. Should I… sleep with her? Sleeping on the couch was appalling to him, considering this was his house.
Elise was already soundly sleeping - she was a nice sleeper, no drooling, snoring, or sleepwalking. Her body had learned not to when she found a job at an okay hotel in the city.
Havenwood walked into the room, buzzing with nervousness. She'd kick my ass if she found me sleeping in the same room. I know, I'll just get up before her! He congratulated himself on his intelligence and laid down carefully in his bed.
Letting out one last sob before drifting into REM, Elise unconsciously shifted towards Havenwood so that her head rested inches away from Havenwood's chest. But of course, she didn't know.
Havenwood sighed. She's gonna kill me… ah well… He laid back into one of his pillows and tugged some sheets up to his chest.
Elise opened her eyes to something she was not expecting to see - Havenwood's sleeping body inches away from hers. She blinked.
It isn't too bad. She thought and tried to go back to sleep, but when you wake up naturally it is almost impossible to go to sleep the same way. So as his body slowly stirred to life, she pretended to sleep, which her experiences in the city had made her very good at.
(oH MY GOD IT"S BEEN TWO MINUTES)
Havenwood blinked awake and sat up slowly. Oh good, she's still asleep.
(sorry)
Elise tried not to smile. As much as he was the god of hunting, it was amusing to know he still couldn't tell asleep from awake.
(Keep posting as much as you like but I sleep. night!)
(I sleep but it's merely ten o' clock)
Havenwood glanced down at her. Is she up? She's sitting there grinning like an idiot.
(nvm one more)
Elise risked a glance. But her act was ruined when she saw Havenwood looking down at her.
"Goddamn it, Havenwood." She sighed, rolling over in bed. She couldn't sleep, but she was tired as hell.
(mooOOOORE)
Havenwood chuckled. "I knew it. I'm gonna make breakfast. You want any?"
"Ugh. Sure." Elise curled up into a ball under the sheets, making it clear that she wasn't ready to eat anything.
(I HAVE TO SLEEP M BUT YOU KEEP POSTING)
(I WILL NEVER STOP)
"Alright, no." Havenwood walked into the kitchen, not bothering to get dressed into day clothes just yet.
(I will keep going but I may stop abruptly)
Elise's hand made sure that the chain was still in her pocket. It was. She breathed a sigh of relief.
It was good to know that someone other than her knew about the chain's meaning. It lifted a sort of weight. It was nice to have it over with.
(;u;)
Havenwood hummed as he set out some strips of bacon on a pan to cook. Ox strips were amazing in the morning.
What is that tune? Elise wondered, listening to Havenwood hum. I know I've heard it before.
(gasp)
Soon the cottage started to smell of cooking meat, and it was mouthwateringly good. Havenwood leaned on the counter and nailed that higher note as he hummed.
Seriously, what is it? Elise wondered, turning over in bed. She wanted bacon but she didn't want to get out of bed.
Havenwood turned the strips over and flicked some dirt out from under a fingernail, enjoying the song playing in his head as he hummed.
(just have him bring her the bacon already)
(Kay kay)
He realized they were finished and put them on a plate, then served them to Elise. "Here you go." He handed her the plate.
