(;okay!) kera sighed, wondering what she should do next

Jonathan sat silently for a few minutes, then remembered Kera mentioning that she hadn’t seen any recent pics of Maxim yet. He quickly saved the picture Kera had sent him, then glanced at her.

“You want to see some pics of Max? The most recent ones I have are from two years ago, but he didn’t change much in looks,”he asked softly.

“ sure,” she said softly and scooted to be by his side. Kera smiled at Edgar and watched his screen afterwards

Jonathan blushed a bit when he noticed her movement, but didn’t comment. He then went to the pictures on his computer and snorted, having forgotten just how many pictures he had.

“Give me a minute. I collect pictures like I collect computers,”Jonathan quipped, chuckling.

He scrolled through until he found the section of pictures dated two years ago. After searching for a moment, Jonathan found a good picture of Maxim in a good mood. He had to fight hard to keep the reality of Maxim’s death out of his mind.

“And there he is. My jackass brother,”he said lightly, snorting. His voice wavered at bit as he said ‘brother’.

Edgar sat comfortably on the desk near Jonathan, watching the pair. He still eyed Kera suspiciously but seemed satisfied with her current behavior.

When Jonathan spoke after finding the pic, Edgar turned, chirping quietly, a bit concerned.

kera could hear the pain in his voice. " jonny i dont know what happen but dont hurt yourself.." she said softly and rubbed his back.

Jonathan flinched a bit, both at her words and when she rubbed his back. Though, he didn’t object to either. He sighed, shaking his head, struggling to keep his emotions in check.

“He’s dead, Kera. Max is fucking dead. I don’t think it’s even been two weeks,”he said, his voice barely above a whisper.

Edgar walked over to Jonathan and nuzzled him. Jonathan chuckled, softly petting Edgar as a few tears escaped and slid down his face.

keras eyes widened, she watched as he started crying. no... she thought and pulled him into a tight hug " im so sorry.." she said shakily, keras embrace was warm and caring. she refused to let him go until he let it all out.all of his emotions he'd been building up… she could hardly imagine what he was going through

Jonathan held Kera tightly, desperate for comfort as more tears streamed from his eyes. After a moment of unsuccessfully fighting his emotions, he buried his face in her shoulder, the full force of his tears pouring out.

He had the urge to talk, to explain all that had happened, and that Maxim had, basically, even though it was painful to admit, gotten what he deserved. But, he found no words. He wanted to tell her, wanted to just burst the whole story out right there, but he couldn’t find a single damn word to say. He had never been speechless like this, and he wasn’t sure what to do about it.

A long while passed before Jonathan started to calm down. When he finally did, he continued to hold her silently, eyes closed to ward off any more tears. He gave no indication of letting her go anytime soon.

Edgar watched all of this with concern, feathers a bit fluffed. He chirped and cooed repeatedly, trying to calm Jonathan. He only somewhat calmed when Jonathan did.

Kera held Jonathan as long as he needed, rubbing his back softly. “ shh.. “ she hushed softly, trying to comfort him. Kera noticed edgars soft crys. She held her hand out, allowing the bird to perch on her open shoulder.

Jonathan barely noticed her actions until he had calmed down. Though he was still a bit unaccustomed to it, particularly from Kera, he didn’t object to the back rub.

He continued to hold Kera, quite comfortable actually. So rarely did he have hugs like this, though that was mostly his fault since he often avoided mentioning his problems. Regardless, it was still nice.

Edgar hesitated at the sight of Kera’s hand, then jumped onto it and climbed onto her shoulder. Then he plucked at Jonathan’s shirt a bit, chirping.

Jonathan noticed the pull on his shirt and shifted a hand to gently pet him. That soothed Edgar considerably.

“ see? He's okay buddy.. “ she said softly and smiled with the same loving smile she had as a kid. Kera lowered her arms, letting Jonathan go “ better? Crying usually helps.. And yeah.. I felt like crying when.. When you said that but I guess I have a had time producing tears. Or I actually died the day you dipshits tried killing me..” she laughed a bit

Jonathan straightened when Kera let go of him. He was a bit dismayed by her actions, but didn’t comment on it. Edgar then moved over to his shoulder, and he smiled a bit, petting the bird softly as he nuzzled him.

Jonathan nodded at her words, snickering. He then glanced over at his computer and exited out of the pictures. After that, he looked back at Kera shyly.

“I… um… Thank you. I… needed that,”he said quietly.

“ anytime hobby boy..” she said softly. Kera ran her fingers through his disheveled hair, trying to fix it up. She also wiped the remaining tear stains from his red eyes.

Jonathan chuckled at the nickname. He then paused, caught completely off guard, when she fixed his hair and wiped off his face. With an embarrassed chuckle, he looked away, his cheeks bright red.

Kera chuckled at his red face “ sorry, you looked like a whole mess right there. “ she said jokingly and unknowingly leaned a little closer to him.

Jonathan laughed a bit at her comment, and scratched the back of his head. He glanced at her, not registering that she was closer, and snickered again.

“ hey Jonathan.. Can I do something and you won't get pissy?” she asked, flustering a darker shade of red

Edgar hopped down from Jonathan’s shoulder, happy that he had calmed down. He started scooting around the computer mouse for a moment, chirped, then went to his cage to play with his toys.

Jonathan watched Edgar a moment, then looked back at Kera. He chuckled at her blush as he considered her question.

“I… guess. I don’t see any reason why I’d get pissy,”he replied, shrugging a bit and looking at her in confusion.

“ good.” she said simply. She placed her hand on his cheek before leaning in and kissing him.

Jonathan’s eyes widened in surprise and he was sure his cheeks were practically scalding now, but, for some reason he couldn’t fathom, he didn’t mind her kiss. In fact…

Jonathan kissed her back, tender and almost needy. His hand slowly rose to rest on her cheek.

Kera pulled away after a second, just watching Jonathan. Her cheeks were just as red as his and she finally looked away

When Kera pulled away, he stared at her blankly, his mind whirling as he simply tried to process what had happened. He then quickly looked away, scratching the back of his head.

Fuck, Keigo’s going to kill me. Hell, everybody is. But that kiss…

“I… um…”he trailed off, clearing his throat a bit.

He chewed on his lip. He had no idea what to do.

“ I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that..” she lowered her head a bit. She knew that it wouldn't work out, hell, Amelia would kill her.

Jonathan glanced at her.

“No… it… it’s alright. Honestly… I, um… I enjoyed it,”he stammered, repeatedly glancing at her to see her reaction. He scratched the back of his head again.

What the fuck are ya doing, Jonathan? I don’t fucking know, but goddamnit, she’s so easy to talk to! Not even Boris is like this!

Kera smiled softly. “ thanks..” she said softly. Kera pulled him into another hug, nuzzling into the crook of his neck.
